Nope, game was rushed to the stores - today that's common...
There is Heroes 4 World championship - the mod Equilibris did balance the units for multiplayer games.

Misunderstanding 5: Relying too heavily upon what you already know from Heroes 3

H IV is also played, maybe not so much or loved as H3 but it's still good veteran of H3 switching to H4

I'm not sure why there is so much hate of HOMM V. I mean it's not as good as HOMM3, but still enjoyable. Now VI is another matter.. that one is with the crappy online stuff, and it's worthless to me.
