darthcobley: would that include the new alone in the dark?

The new one or the even newer one? Never mind, either way both suck. AITD1 was a true classic. They had everything that made a game scary, except the technology. It's a shame that developers these days get so ambitiously over their heads they forget what makes a game truly scary, yet not too ridiculously difficult to the point of unplayable
Speaking of AITD, anyone remember this game?

It's a very good game, but grossly underrated. It's got fewer "genius" ideas compared to the latest AITD, but compared to that and The New Nightmare, I'd say Nocturne wins

Whoopsey. I didn't realise this thread was necro-ed

Lucavious: Has anyone heard any word on a possible addition of the Alone in the Dark games?

Urb4nZ0mb13: I think that's the first time I've seen a thread so old revived on GOG.

What was thread #1 on here? We should ressurect that

I love Nocturne. I agree that its underrated. Sweet game. Too bad it won't play nice on my XP.

Urb4nZ0mb13: Let's all just forget about THAT game and walk away...

Actually I would be very happy to have the latest Aitd on GoG and would buy it immediately even if it was 9.99$...not to play it or course...but just to download the OST which I found preyy good.

I just wish they added all the PS3 fixes to the PC version of Alone in the Dark 2008 in a patch for the PC -- b/c there's just too many technical hurdles that get in the way of the PC version.
I don't mean performance issues, as the game ran well on my PC. It's just there's a lot of stupid design issues -- which namely the PS3 version has all fixed.
I've spoken about it already here:

I would also like to see the Alone in the Dark mini-game called Jack in the Dark where you play as a little girl against the villain of Alone in the Dark 2...it was supposedly included in the CD version of Alone in the Dark 1...

It's true that a patch removing the activation and having those improvments could really help make the game better or at least actually playable... but knowing Atari I wouldn't hold my breath.
If they ever release those improvment I am pretty sure it will be as a purchasable DLC and not as a free patch.
Alone In The Dark was published by Infogrammes who are now wearing Atari like a flayed skin-suit. So basically GOG would have to have a publishing deal with Zombie Atari to get the AITD games.

That stuff should be free in a patch -- since that would really be more of a patch than anything else.
I think DLC should be reserved for like adding more say episodes, chapters, levels, and features to the game.
