That's right!! The combat demo for Age of Decadence is finally released to the hungry, slavering masses!! WOOT!

Did they decide to add party members?
I read previews awhile ago saying that there were no party members (awhile ago mind you) and was utterly baffled that they would choose turn-based combat for such a system, since most of the time you would just be watching enemies move about and your tactical options (which is the main draw of turn based combat) would be very limited since you, uh, only have one guy.
Guess I'll have to see it in action, see if this game's all talk and no walk, because it's definitely been a whole lot of a damn talk.

I think it's a solo game by the looks and sounds of it. I haven't played the demo yet because I have a crappy net connection and it would take me 3-4 hours to download it. I have only read that it will be a solo affair.
Thanks. Doesn't exactly raise my hopes, still it looks very interesting and who knows how they'll handle it.
My download is at %80 (sorry about your connection), I'll give an opinion after I experience it for myself.
Thanks for the heads up!
To everyone who is affected by the dialogue crash, here is a hotfix for you:

wow, that's proactive
I have some performance problems, framerate drops in builings and camera stutters a bit. As for combat, it's very good. I tried almost every weapon with different builds. I hope that full game will be released soon!
ZOMG downloading now!
Typing my comments here as I'm playing. For the most part, I feel right at home with the game. I'm not going to mention the positives, as you guys should know what they are - great dialogue, nice stats etc. So, just going to mention what I think is lacking:
- no tooltips for the icons in the UI. Not a big problem I guess, but it makes the interface more intuitive at first
- Would be nice to see the chat history while talking to someone.
- Can't change keyboard/mouse scroll speed. Would also be nice if there was a camera follow option, but not a big deal.
- Can't rotate the camera at a lower angle
- Can't examine people/items without going into combat.
- Character creation screen: would be nice to rotate the character vertically too
- you have to be at least 2 squares away to people to talk to them...ok this is just nitpicking really lol
But as you guys can tell, all these are small issues. I mean, we finally have an old school RPG that's...not generic. I don't know what more to expect, other than to yell for joy.
-edit-
I'm up to the Barbaris now. I LOVE this game!

I dont think so. :(
I kinda get the appeal but it's way too rudimentary for me.
