Well, we'll know March 20th. A new Tex Murphy via Kickstarter, maybe?
A new Tex Murphy,so far this is the best year ever
Shhht! Don't say a word about this to FraterPerdurabo.
I don't know if you could do a Tex Murphy game now. Think about it. The 3D adventuring would be so complete in and of itself that you wouldn't need the FMV at all.
Christ that would be another kick-ass-dream-come-true, but they better start spacing these Kickstarters out (if that's indeed the deal), because people are gonna run out of throw-at-screen-money fast (I know I am).
I love the Tex Murphy games so much.

I really hope it's a good announcement but I'm prepared for disappointment. Hyped announcements have made me too cynical, watch it be a MMO/FPS/Tex Murphy TF2 hat or something.
As long as it has cheesy live action cutscenes and continues in the tradition of previous Tex Murphy games in regards to story design and silly/serious dialogue, I'm happy.
Please, let this be true. Personally I would prefer if it still would be the FMV/3D investigation hybrid ( just imagine what they could do with modern graphics and gameplay on the 3d portions of the game).

Too late. Now let me clean up this mess on my keyboard and monitor.
If it turns out to be a Kickstarter project, I don't think they'd go for a FMV game. What would that cost nowadays? I doubt they'd get more than Double Fine Adventure did, and even if that happened it would cost more than 3 million.
I wish somebody would do an fmv game now, just to see how they could improve it.

The same equipment they used fifteen years ago can be replaced with a $1000 digital camera and a good video editing system. So...

Equipment might be cheaper but the actors, I don't think so.

To be fair, we're hardly talking 'Hollywood' and the ones who did it originally weren't exactly cream of he crop, so a bag of doritos for the supporting cast and scale for the main.

A project like this could be made for relatively pennies compared to a game requiring far, far more artists, animators and coders.

Gog really do have to lower the price of the last 3... $9.99 is a bit much.

EDIT.. Actually I see michael York was in Overseer, still even he doesn't cost much these days.
