I have a question for those that have played this game. What is it like and is it worth the $17.97 price that Gamersgate is currently asking for it?
Any other comments about the game would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Looks Baldur's Gatey. That is usually a good sign.
The game apparently have two major problems. It's very bugged, and it's poorly translated.
To quote RPGWatch:
Due to the dramatically inept English localization, even being sure of the main points of the plot can be difficult at times, and getting any nuances is totally out of the picture. I’m a fan of many games where English isn’t the primary language, and I’m usually unfazed by rough translations, but this isn’t just a question of a few garbled sentences or even the often humorous misuse of words. It’s dialogue boxes that scroll through minutes of incomprehensible or nonsensical questions and answers, assigning quests that have you wandering cluelessly across multiple maps or have to be reloaded and redone several times because pertinent information is just not there. The old adage ‘Save Early and Save Often’ is indispensable here. About the only thing to be grateful for in these exchanges is the lack of voice acting.

EDIT:
To be quite honest, the horrendous translation sort of interest me. Few things make me laugh as much as nonsensical gibberish .

Thanks for that. Even if I do not buy the game this was a fun little read! :o)
It really is the worst translation I've come across since Pathologic. The actual game mechanics are okay, and the setting is nice enough, though it looks quite ugly. Sort of like a top down roleplayer from maybe 2005 or so.
I would say if you can find it under £10 it'll be worth a playthrough on a rainy weekend, but not much to recommend aside from that.
Just a word of warning, Planet Alcatraz shares the same engine, design issues and questionable translation (the subtitles rarely match up with the voice actors' lines!)
Thanks for the advice. I think I will hold on to my $17.97 and be happy! :o)
