I've been thinking about the age of the games GOG's selling, and trying to explain the site to some friends, and I've been caught in the gulf of what to cal this kind of game. 'Old' doesn't seem to do them justice (particularly given that they're not old old), and 'retro' seems to inspire images of pixellated Mega Man and Space Invaders games.
So what would you call games of GOG's era, those which are by no means current-gen or even last-gen, but are not old enough to be considered retro?

Classic?

Heeeey thee :P Whatcha doin here :P
"Vintage" makes them sound old but good ;)
nostalgia / nostalgic ??
I kinda like Classic. Vintage almost sounds too old, considering these games have been out less than ten years. It's like calling a movie from the 80's vintage.
In fact, I guess my only argument with Classic is that it denotes a degree of excellence as well as age. That's no real problem if they are indeed excellent, and I guess you probably wouldn't want to be remembering and discussing them unless they were.

"historical"? "groundbreaking"? "the foundation of all the games you love today and if I hear you bitch just once about the graphics you'll get a smack in the face"?
"Games of video-archeological interest..." for the highbrows. For the French it would be "Classique"
I prefer not to use an age identifier because some of the games are only 2 years old.
How about "good old"? :-P
