I haven't seen it yet (the website is down), but with most games that advertise a very low amount of space, they require content to be created procedurally as the game is run, which requires a good amount of CPU and RAM.
.kkrieger is a full-on FPS (although not a very good one) that only takes up 96kb of space, but requires a lot of prep time to provide the content and relatively high system specs to run.
Then again, this might be nothing like that, in which case just look up .kkrieger anyways. It's pretty amazing.
Edit: Just played it, it's nothing like what I assumed. I thought the file size was in the order of 8 kb, not the graphical style being in the 8-bit style. It does use a surprising amount of RAM for the job. Someone was programming lazily.
