There is just no way this damn camera will do all these things. Just no way.

I call BS.
I can't see this being more than a gimmick, if it exists at all.
At best, they have some sort of tech demo, which they are no where near making marketable.
I can't see this going farther than a gimmick.
Looks fake to me, at least until I try it out.
The thing that really got me was the fighting game.
Do they really expect people to play like that?
There would be a fundamental disconnect when you got hit, because you wouldn't be hit. Your character would be unresponsive, and that would just feel wrong.
Also, the football game, I don't even know where to begin with that...
Justt. No. thats complete bullshit. Scanning the skateboard? fuck off. facial recognition? if the ones they have for airports still dont work right somehow i dont think that microsoft can do any better. And i wanted to punch the smug presenters face so bad. And then burn everyone else in the advert of course.

I agree wholeheartedly that the skateboard scan was the worst example of corporate "Look at this satisfied customer enjoying our product!" ever presented to mankind. And smugness is nothing new to this kind of ad, as shown by every Wii "Oh check me out I'm so into the game" or "Our whole family is having some good, quality togetherness with this game!" ad to come out.

Peter Molyneux deliver on your promises or GTFO.
"this isn't acted"...orly?
The hairs might be standing up on the back of my neck but not for the reasons he described.
regardless, unless games are programmed to use it, they won't and if they don't use it, it's as dead as their $40 vga webcam.
Bullshit for the masses. It won't work properly (face recognition, one that is accurate? -lol), it can't work without some errors. And the movement tracking also can't be that accurate: most likely you will move like a rabid monkey in heat and still win the whatever game you play.
I hate this. I hate this because devs would put money and time in this shit and it would sell to the same public that nintendo made millions. And it sucks from a gamers point of view.
Oh, and Molyneux needs to STFU once and for all. Seriously Molyneux, pick another hobby, like gardening.

Hey, he may promise the world, but his games are brilliant. I loved Black and White, The Movies, and Fable. I'm approaching his virtual friend cautiously, but it seems very interesting. AI has evolved to the point where they can carry intelligent conversations with people, albeit on limited topics and for short bursts, but nevertheless, this could be possible. However, this is not the way to show it. If you want to display your awesome technology, have a live demo instead of a video. Get some audience participation in there. Do SOMETHING to display that you aren't all talk.
I wonder if this is all faked and that it is still in development. It's probably going to be expensive to make and to buy. The only thing I wonder is how would they do FPS, TPS, Platformers, Sports games ( not the soccer mini game they presented.), or anything that would require a lots of button usage. What the Wii did right was that the controller allowed motions that the other consoles wouldn't be able to do, while having a controller that works as good as a keyboard and mouse for all genre's. The Wii has less limitations then what this seems to have.
Huh. I wasn't expecting this topic to live up to its name, but it performed admirably.
Would be pretty cool if it was real. Parts of it probably is; wouldn't do Microsoft any good to advert a false product, after all. Still, I will have to see it before I believe it, and even so, I would wait for it to come to PC.
wohoh! What the hell guys.... what is with this anger and hatred here. Jesus. Acting like bunch of school kids.
What was shown here is no different from wiimote except it is much more advance. a new step in gaming.
This is clearly a concept video, showing a goal Microsoft is trying to reach/probably working on it right now. How silly you have to be to think it is a product ad?
If it works it won't be a gimmick... the same way wii is not a gimmick. Next step to fully immersive gaming which is featured in so many science-fiction movies, novels etc.
