Till the new Monkey Island is released. Not sure about anyone else. I'm excited and ready to be a swashbuckling pirate once again.
Pre-Order: www.telltalegames.com
Oh, you know, it's no biggie or anything...but I have been squealing like a little girl who actually got a pony for her birthday in anticipation.
I'm not actually expecting too much this time around. I love the series but I didnt connect enough with Monkey Island IV, and that may happen again this time.
However, that being said, one can always hope it will deliver a pleasant surprise and I'm fan enough that I did pre-order the game last week.
So lets hope episode 1 will deliver the smiles and laughs :)
I'm positively encouraged, at least. I didn't find Monkey Island IV that bad, although I agree it was the worst of the series in some ways - mainly the very simplified 3D characters and incredibly shoddy ending.
This time the 3D looks better and the characters have a little more, well, character to them. However I'm worried that Telltale's "take" on gaming with fairly easy puzzles overall and a limited number of locations may ruin the game. One of the best things in the entire MI series was the island-hopping you did in Act II of MI2, with complicated puzzles that spanned all three islands.
Oh yes, counting down the hours. I loaded the telltale game page & actually refreshed it a few times hoping it would change
Wow, it's only two days?! I oughta get a move on :).
Need a demo first.
Preordered it yesterday.
Preordered this a month ago. I've been in a lot of pain.
Actually that's a lie, I have a life beyond Monkey Island. It's called Maniac Mansion.

Yea, I hated Monkey Kombat. But the game did have alot of humor which made up for it. I believe the 3rd Monkey Island is my personal favorite. A lactose intolerant volcano? That's just hilarious.

Even if there was a way to make a chart for monkey kombat that would be valid all the time but no, it had to be variable. Variable and NOT FUN. The insult collection was grreat fun but eek counters oop but is vulnerable to ack? Nah, thats not me.
Also: Only a few hours to go now!

I did make a chart of sorts, looked like some crazy man wrote it out in a padded cell. My sister gave up after spending a day trying to figure it out. I barely made it to the end of the game. After beating it all I could think was man I'm never playing this game again. They should of given you the option of opting out or making it easier like they did with the banjo game in the 3rd one. Not everyone is a hard core gibberish expert.
The best I've seen is a chart that someone made with a lot of blank spaces so you could fill it in as you go. Since the counter & vulnerabilities change in each play, a static chart is useless once you start a new game.
I've formally given up and very sadly am in the process of youtube-ing a full walkthrough
