Anyone here ever play it? It's a really good game. Kinda like SimCity but with a Command & Conquer feel and a dash of Civilization. I wish GOG would get it so everyone could take it for a spin.

Reminds me of Caesar 2.
Haven't played these though, but might be worth a look.

Yea, they do have a similar feel. I like that you can evolve and expand your civilization from grass huts to modern buildings of that era. The demands get really crazy as they evolve. So you have the choice of trading or waging war with your opponents. Trading to get what you need is harder then it sounds. It also has single player scenarios but the free play mode is alot more fun.
The later editions that Sunflowers released aren't as fun, more micromanagement.
Yes, played this for a a long time. 1602 was the first in the series and it was not very easy for many people to understand how to get things done in the game.
I remember reading one review where the reviewer finally gave up trying to figure out how to do something in the game hit his head against the keyboard and bingo he hit the right combination of keys! It was a rather funny review.
I like the game and 1503 as well. To me, these were the best int he series.
Dreadcog, you may know this, but every title adds up to the number 9.
I toyed around with the DS Anno and enjoyed it, nabbed 1503 and 1701 from the GamersGate sale a few weeks ago.
