"This is the free public pre-alpha of Xenonauts 2 - a very early build of the game intended for gameplay and stability testing. This demo requires GOG Galaxy to download and will NOT grant a copy of the final game (it will be deleted once the game moves into the paid alpha stage."

This part actually bothers me. I believe that all software and games should be preserved for historical purposes, and this includes demos. By deleting the demo, it deprives people who, down the road, are curious about the development of the game, from experiencing an early form of the game.

(Also, you are missing a right parenthesis, so I will put an extra one at the end of this post.))

Not many people discuss the demo here. :-/

It needs Galaxy to download now, but I guess you can make your own local backup. :-P

You would think this would make an announcement?

Why? It's not like anyone mentioned the first public test build that was stashed away on GOG's servers months ago. I only found out about it by mere happenstance when I was browsing Gold Hawk Interactive's forum for any info on X2 at the time.

Frankly, I don't really consider it a typical game demo. Currently, it's still just one combat mission test build, with many basic elements simply copied over from X1.

It's interesting to check out for a moment to see their early 3D implementation, but other than that it's not all that exciting.

Thanks for mentioning, I had no idea it existed.
