It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

Spent two days of my free time to play this game should test more games I buy when I just get them. Lesson learned. Not sure the point of GOG.com if not to make old games work on modern hardware. I can play it in an emulator but that greatly reduces my computers capabilities.

Maybe just time to stop spending money on games.
First which version of windows are you using? The 'latest' version of windows is known to get patches and breaks compatibility a lot. Also Shogo is old, so i'd double check the pre DX12 is installed.

Does it run at all and you can't see anything (potentially resolution issue on the TV/monitor?) or does it crash or refuse to run? (If the resolution is bad, potentially changing to the minimum window resolution and working your way up from there).

Last have you tried adjusting the compatibility settings? Probably try to do either 98 or XP, preferably admin settings disabled and DPI/256 color options disabled.
I guess you’re writing about Shogo: Mobile Armor Division ?

Here it works flawlessly, on a Debian GNU/Linux using WINE 9.0. I tested both the French localization and the English one.

The gamecard says the Shogo game is officially supported only on Windows XP, Vista and 7.
The implies it has issues on Windows 8 or newer so yeah if you are trying to play it on Windows 10 or 11, you probably need to apply some fixes manually, unless you are lucky.

That's PC gaming for you, it needs a bit of tinkering especially if you are trying to run 20 years old games on it, and GOG can't necessarily do anything especially since "Windows" is a moving target where updates from Microsoft can break compatibility.

If you want to avoid that, consoles like Nintendo Switch or PS5 are the answer, but then you can't play Shogo on them I guess.

If you are willing to try to get the game work:

1. Read

https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Shogo:_Mobile_Armor_Division

That is, go to pcgamingwiki.com and search for Shogo.

2. I'd try dgVoodoo2 (maybe it is mentioned in the PC Gaming Wiki article, I didn't check it).

3. Like someone suggested, sometimes it may be actually easier to get some legacy Windows games to run on Linux, than on modern Windows. Then again if you are not thinking of installing and using Linux, this doesn't help you, but hey Linux is free and you will feel very badass while using it, like you are some computer wizard rebel or something. I know I do!

There's also https://www.shogoservers.com/Home/RunShogo.

For Blood 2, which runs on the same engine as Shogo, you can use the instructions as specified at https://github.com/elishacloud/dxwrapper/wiki/Blood-II-The-Chosen.

http://dege.freeweb.hu/Patches/bin/Blood2ResPatch.zip is for the High Resolution patch for Blood 2.
