Windows 7 has reached end of life and is not going to get any more updates from Microsoft after the 14th of January 2020.
Must admit I don't really understand if this means so much, you should still be able to run Windows Update when you have re-installed the operating system. They don't write it out loud though.
The main reason for this thread was to give people who have lost or damaged their disc or don't have an optical drive
a chance to download the image file from Microsoft themselves.
Useful when you want to do a fresh install, with Windows in your own language.
Probably you can change language, but I read something about it not being possible if you have the Home version.
You need the license key by the way. Perhaps a new key for Win 10 works as well?
