Many games that use .ogg files for musics are bugged since that windows update... (Quake II and Outlaws for example)

That's weird. The OS actually never even gets to see that the sound originally came from .ogg files, so I don't imagine MS broke Ogg Vorbis compatibility as such, but it may be that the update broke some audio component that happens to be shared by those games.

Rebel Galaxy and Duke Nukem Manhattan Project, both use vorbis for music, and run fine for me.

Duke Nukem Manhattan Project has only file ogg.dll, vorbis.dll, vorbisfile.dll but not trackX.ogg files (x=number of track) and it works fine...

That's an impressive screwup, seeing as OOG is an openly documented format.

Never had music play when i launched quake 2 from gog.. did it actually work for some people?

this is caused by anniversary update of windows 10... all other windows versions works fine...

I suspect it is likely to be another problem with winmm.dll which has somehow been broken as there are some other games that don't even launch because of it on Win10.

this is not a launch problem, but a music problem; and yes, is caused by winmm.dll

Huh, so a significant number of game developers actually used Windows Multimedia to read .ogg files? I had no idea. I guess I stand corrected.

Only Gog version i think

The games originally used CD audio; GOG's versions include a custom winmm.dll that reads from the provided .ogg files instead.
