Falkenherz: Do you think children can add a whole new layer of quest diversity to these games?
Do you have any game recommendations and examples where this has been successfully done?
Was Ultima 7 already mentioned? You can let an orphan (I think), a little boy, join your party early in the game. Iolo (an old man in your party) is first negative of the idea of letting a mere child join the party, but the kid proves him wrong.

Which, as a rule of thumb, bodes well for their game's quality. Devs who make shit games usually want and try hard to start controversy to bring attention to their games (and to have an excuse against negative reviews).
