why do we need to change the mode from fullscreen to borderless, my computer doesn't like that mode, it crashes and frustrates me no other of my games need to do this, pathfinder: kingmaker seems the only one that has this problem

it may cause me not to play it, i don't see why my computer needs to be in that mode to play it properly.. does anyone have a workaround with this or is it a game flaw( did owlcat games make some error in programing or something)

I want to play this game it is kool, but this issue might stop me from playing it.
Ah yes, That Particular Game. Pretty solid effort. Personally though I prefer the sequel "That Particular Game 2 - Electric Boogaloo". The combat system is more refined and the donkeys no longer die from two simple mid-size melons to the shin...

Hang on! Hang on! That particular game doesn't have donkeys or melons but it does have a sliced beetroot thrower that can take a head off in an instant.
i'm going to try the pathfinder online since i just learned it is a free to play now, when i first heard of them about 1 year or so ago, they charged a fee before , i don't know what expect from it may not be anything like the kingmaker single player one
i started the pathfinder online but seemed like no one was even on, so i don't know if it's dead or maybe depends where it is based... also it's not free to play, its a free trialm after that i would have to pay a sub fee so that game won't be a game i'll play

Which OS?

My understanding is that "borderless" is needed for Windows 10 which doesn't like the old-fashioned true full-screen.

If you are still playing on Windows 7, Vista or XP, it may be the developers figured that they'd rather use the mode that works the best on Windows 10, rather than some unsupported old OS.

Woah, that's news to me! Glad I haven't upgraded yet.
pathfinder kingmaker is the only game i have that needs to change that to borderless, so i've decided ithe game isn't worth continuing for me (at this time),

If they ever fix that problem either owlcat or microsoft i may come back but as for now i've uninstalled it

I'm just going to wait for my next GoG game which will be vampire the masquerade bloodlines 2, I'm planing to buy it in april

i think it's suppose to be out in february (haven't looked into that for a bit so i don't know if that has changed or not)

pathfinder kingmaker, for me at least, is the only game i have this problem with i have windows 10 64 bit and no other game of mine has this need for borderless, all my other games work fine in fullscreen, no problems
the quote i was using just suppose to be from timppu, not Sir Primalforn, i didn't notice it was connected to the post, just a typing error on my part

I don't think this is true, at least not any more. I don't know if that's what you were referring to, but I used to have the problem that fullscreen mode would mess up my desktop and any open windows if the resolution was lower than the desktop's, but for some time now that has not happened any more. Maybe they have changed something about how fullscreen works in Windows 10 in a recent update.

That said, I usually prefer borderless window mode, if possible. But that's mostly because I am used to having two screens and like to alt-tab out of a game without delay.

This was never an issue with WIndows 10. The very early UWP (Microsoft Store) games couldn't run in full screen exclusive, that's long since been taken care of.
i'm going to try the game again, hopefully the issue will be resolved, but i think after a few days my problem with loading screen problem will happen again i'll keep trying to figure it out, it's just frustrating i hope it just a bug or prosessing thing, that they on someone might make an unofficial patch or official would be better from owlcat games

I know there at least used to be an issue with e.g. Geometry Dash (a Steam game, I haven't tried it recently though). Running it in fullscreen mode, in Windows 7 it ran buttersmooth, while in Windows 10 (same PC) it run pretty jerkily, as if the framerate was halved. It was like 60 fps vs. 20 fps or something.

At least in that case the fix for Windows 10 was to change the display mode to "windowed fullscreen" or borderless or whatever it was called in the game options, and then it would run smoothly also in Windows 10.

Yeah there's some individual games that have issues, but there's no global issue with Windows 10 not supporting exclusive full-screen.

I play nearly every game in full-screen exclusive on my laptop if possible due a bug with hybrid graphics and tearing in Windows 10 that I doubt will ever be fixed.
i really want to play this game i like what i have played, but it seems i install the game and am able to start my game but between 2 - 5 days the loading screen doesn't allow me to close the game, other than hitting the reset button on my tower.

i tried that use the borderless windows mode, but in that mode i end up not being able to keep the mouse within the game to play properly, it ends up delaying my use the mouse in the game and i don't know why it happens, doesn't seem to matter how many times i install or reinstall, the same problem i can't seem to resolve

i'm still going to try to figure it out i'm not totally discouraged, just frustrating is all, and i don't know if i'm setting things up wrong or if need to change some settings for it to work

There must be a solution so i'm going to keep trying to figure it out, i wish there was a fix in the nexus mods thing
