Care to elaborate?

It's been a while since I played that game, but I can remember two instances (plus one instance of animal cruelty):
1. One person complains about his girlfriend, and asks you for advice. I think at least one of the options you could suggest would be considered domestic abuse (though I don't remember for sure). In any case, this part only works if the player is a straight male.
2. There is one part where you *have* to kill a bunch of little old ladies in order to progress.

Plus, some animal cruelty:
3. In one screen, there are a bunch of chickens (IIRC). You can attack (and decapitate IIRC) the chickens, and if you do so, your character says things like "this is fun!". (I suspect this might be a reference to certain Zelda games, in which chickens (called cuccos in games) are invincible, and where attacking one enough will cause a whole swarm of them to attack you.)

By those standards, there's animal cruelty in almost every game, right?

Don't forget trespassing, theft, fraud, burglary, robbery, manslaughter, murder, speciecism and genocide. And breaking the speed limit!

dtgreene: Why was the original post of this thread "low rated"? It makes it incredibly difficult to follow a thread when this happens.

Oh,I don't think it's that hard to figure out who done it.

LiefLayer: well they are not
Actually, the way I define RPG, Trails in the Sky is more of an RPG than Oblivion is.

What about games like Tetris and Solitaire?

(Also, the whole animal cruelty is from that scene being unnecessarily gory and the character you're controlling showing no remorse, and more importantly, saying that it's fun.)

Well, if you blend out that in Tetris whatver you build will be destroyed again and that Solitaire is a bit of an egocentric game, I guess they're safe enough. At least there are no humans in them, so not that much danger of being confronted with disagreeable actions and views. You could always limit yourself to games like those if you want to be on the safe side.

LOL Like hell

dtgreene: I am curious as to which of these two games you would consider to be more like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

1. Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

2. Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky
If you want a game like Oblivion try Risen 1-3 or Gothic 2/3

I actually agree with dtgreene here. The Elder Scrolls games stopped being RPGs in my opinion right after Morrowind. They became Fantasy FPS with RPG elements. They are literally Fantasy Call of Duty.

That doesn't mean I don't enjoy them, don't get me wrong, but RPG games, they're not.
