no. there has been the odd item out of stock, but thats rare. since the covid times (my wife had cancer and we had to isolate), I learned not to have substitutes for missing items, so thats not a problem either. but that's just a box to tick. i guess it depends on how large the Morrisons centre close to you is?

I'd personally consider the games you get on the Prime platform to be DRM-lite. You can't download the installers for backup purposes but you can play the games completely completely offline without the client. I don't like Amazon as a company but I give them props for the sheer value that Prime offers customers (and not just on the gaming front). That said, I do really appreciate that they've been giving us so many GOG games lately. Most of them have been games I already had on Steam but I'm absolutely not complaining because I love to have my games DRM-free, offline installers backed up to an external drive.

What's stopping you from backing up the game folder? That's what I'm doing since there DRM free.

Nothing, but like he said it is DRM-Free Lite.

DRM-Free Lite doesn't have an installer, is a much larger backup, that is slower to backup, especially with your AV scanning every single file. Being larger it wastes storage space, unless you spend time and effort zipping it up.

So DRM-Free Lite takes a bit of effort to make it closer to the ideal setup. And there are no guarantees, so it is always wise to test just to make sure, which if done properly involves another PC, and ideally a different OS version.

So yes you can do it, and I have done so many times. I've even created a program to do so, that zips up the install folder and creates a self-installer.

On the other hand, you don't need to waste time to install it again.
If it works as is, then just click exe and play.

So these things can be pros and cons, depending on your point of view.

Most the time it's because of extra things were not installed like Dx9 runtime or something. Which could happen even with games that are installed. I rarely have issues playing the game from a folder.
I actually do zip all my DRM free games not from GOG. It does make you appreciate GOG services much more, I admit.

Best practice is to copy the installation folder to another computer and try to launch the game there as soon as possible, as that exposes the possible need to export and import a few registry keys, which are a lot more harder to come up with later than any missing common libraries, if you no longer can install the game normally.

Bad news sadly for May as it seems.
At least for May there wont be any GOG (nor Epic) Keys be provided from Prime Gaming (so only keys for their own launcher + legacy games).
Generally there seems to be at least a temporary shift to quantity over quality.
While there will be 2 all time classics with Rogue Squadron 3D and Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition (both sadly only for the prime games app) it seems like they gonna provide 13 more games which at least i have not heard of most (any?) of them and which might be pretty niche.
Really hope the providing of GOG Keys will continue in June

Assuming that the May information is correct, it seems to be one of the best Prime months ever.
Lake, The Almost Gone, and Agatha Knife are all on my Steam wishlist, so I'm not complaining.

Obviously GOG keys would be nice to have, but then again, if it's three games I'm interested in, versus some GOG game I might not be interested in, I think what they offer will be better.

Interesting GOG keys on the other hand... well, that would be another thing altogether, but maybe some time later?
