This one should be fairly easy. A pretty ambitious game that wasn't that addictive, but had "something" that I really liked.

It is indeed. :) Interesting how this very early Will Wright-game is so much more ambitious than Spore was....

This one is a point and clicker with a trivia thing in it and it is based on a sci-fi novel...

Didn't he also have SimFarm and SimAnt as well??? I remember him having a Sim-everything back at one time....

Oh man, I love that game, I was actually considering using it for this thread myself. It also got me hooked on the books. But let's see who else knows it before I post the title... :)

It's got a hybrid user-interface, like most other games from the same developer. You can use the mouse to select the words, or you can just use the text interface.

I recognize the style but i am not being able to gind the name. I think there are couple of games with the same interface.

The game is Frederik Pohl's Gateway.

Ghost: It's from the developer who also did Eric the Unready and the Spellcasting-series, and the interface is pretty much the same. They (Legend Entertainment) were formed by veterans from Infocom, and continued the same tradition of using a common engine for most of their adventure games.
