Feel like there's something people here don't really understand about you? Or maybe there's something you've never shared that would possibly change their minds about you? or maybe you just want to further explain a position that you feel always gets misunderstood?

I see a lot of people here across the entire spectrum of ideological divides who claim to be misunderstood (and I have felt it here often), and in hopes that we might be able to breach that divide -- even just a little -- I'd hope this space could be used for that.

I would ask that any replies to posts be very brief -- I'm hoping this thread can center on individuals expressing their thoughts more than rebuttals (but... if this becomes a ____ -show, obviously people are going to want to rebut). Hopefully this thread can work as intended... *fingers crossed*

I feel a lot of commenters don't worship me enough. In a just world I would be the forum's god-emperor, with complete moderating and banning powers...that may be a dream, but I think I should at least be treated with the utmost respect, like some sort of forum elder, by lesser members.

No, seriously, I don't really feel misunderstood here, and don't quite get why anyone would...this is a gaming forum after all, and games aren't that serious stuff tbh. Political discussions have mostly disappeared, and I'm glad about that.

I'd just seen some hard feelings and misjudging of others... and thought this might be a way to say "this is the kind of person I am".. maybe start anew? But...

As for me: I feel that there are some here who genuinely think I am trying to get under people's skin, trolling, or trying to divide the forums. I mainly vame here due to GOG's pillars(DRM free. one world price, classic games on newer systems, etc), and stayed due to the tight knit and mostly fun community.

At first I was more blunt(as I am IRL) yet civil while sometimes a bit silly in some replies. I did a few regrettable posts/threads and got locked by some and defended by others, and eventually IRL issues(family/financial/mental health) caused me to leave of my own volition(off of most of the net, not just Gog).

Then I came back recently(well I came back a few times, but due to IRL issues and other trolls trolling me I didn't stay long) to try and see how the site was nowadays. I found some new friends and people to talk to, and thought I might write on current events and get people's feelings/stances on such to better get to know the people I shared a forum with and contribute to the forums with some threads on worthwhile topics. This led to some thinking I was trolling, thinking some of my topics didn't "fit" the board, but also some new friends and good conversations with some nice people here.

I still get trolled and called names, but I have tried to let it slide for the most part while trying to get on with those here as best I can. I keep going with my giveaways, kind comments(where applicable) & also criticisms(where justified), etc as I love the site and the community despite the ones who are either trolling me(for being an easy target) or genuinely think I am a bad person trying to do bad here.

tl;dr I am not trying to do bad or be bad here, despite what some may think. I am just a person who has some minority(on this forum) opinions on some things who doesn't always mince words, who like to debate on current events with those who might want to while doing my best to respectfully stay out of the way of most of those who don't want to read/see what I write about.
