I have both Steam and GOG accounts. I started with Steam but I don´t want to put all my eggs in the same basket.

Steam use Akamai as their Content Delivery Network. I want to know if GOG use the same or another CDN. I really hope that GOG use another, then if something goes wrong I won´t lose access to all my games.

The whole point of gog is, that you can store the installer offline and dont depend on any 3rd party/CDN.
So you will never loose access to your games when you buy it here !?

Gog Galaxy is optional, not mandatory

I believe (do not quote me on this) that GOG uses the Amazon CDN but I could be wrong, but you can also download back up DRM free installers on back up storage device if you wish as well.

I alread have many games in an external hard-disk. Maybe I will buy another HD someday but I also don´t trust all my games in my house neither. My HD can be stolen, my house get fire and other nasty events.

You should backup your product to multiple hard drives onsite and offsite, say for instance at a friends house. Therefore minimising the possibilities you face. Hdds are cheap, and online anything is not reliable.

Friends house is not possible right now. The only other physical location that I can think is bury at a park near here.

Agree.
That's what I did and what I'd suggest to the OP.
Drives should be encrypted of course (with veracrypt for example), so nobody (but the owner) can read or change the content.

The installer downloads come from Highwinds CDN (*.hwcdn.net) for me. Not sure whether that applies to all users everywhere. Also don't know whether that applies to games downloaded via galaxy.

I'm currently grabbing 200GB of games, primary connections are to HighWinds Content Delivery Network and Akamai Technologies as a secondary/failsafe connection.
