Fairfox: I once made teh mistake of orderin' (by mistake) bottled still water from a fancy-swish-swish restaurant. It came in this, liek, uber-blue bottle (bluer than mah hair! I mean kinda, right) taht ooked liek it was made of crystal.

THE WATER TASTED NO DIFFERENT THAN TEH WATER FROM MAH KITCHEN TAP.
(capscapscaps)

What a rip! What a mistaken rip!
What a waste. Next time you visit some other fancy restaurant i suggest you to order ordinary Aqua Panna still water in glass bottle. Beleive me or not good water taste differently.

The water from my kitchen tap tastes like solution of metal with chloride and I live in capital. What city do you live in? I want to taste crystal water from a kitchen tap ;)

I once tried tap water in Amsterdam and in Zurich, it was meh... nothing special but a little bit better than mine.

If you're interested in water you might enjoy some lectures by Dr. Gerald Pollack.

UnrealQuakie: I remember that drink! was the brother to mountain dew

too bad we don't have it here in Canada anymore :(
I don't mind Mountain Dew, but I much prefer Mello Yello.

And yeah, it seems like you can't find it in a lot of areas. Luckily for me, it still seems to be pretty popular in my region.

TwoHandedSword: Diet Pepsi, neat.
Dammit. I am sitting next to a liquor cabinet that has enough bottles to keep the entire neighborhood perpetually drunk for the next decade, and yet your post gave me that inexplicable craving for coke that I get once in a blue moon. It's time for a midnight sprint to CVS.

I agree the tap water in Москва is pretty bad but so it is in a lot of big towns and I did not enjoy Amsterdam's water either (never been to Switzerland). I think the only way for many a town to get good tap water is to renovate and clean the distribution pipework (HUGE cost) and construct some water distillery that takes away everything from the raw water then add in some minerals again for it to taste alright. Despite that, adding some chloride in the summer is a must to keep bacterial growth in the pipes down. (Alright, my ex was a water engineer, sorry about that.)
Tap water, ours is fine and tastes good.
Cappuccino.
Liquid effectivness aka coffee ;)
