Hello all,

I am new here and saw that there is a summer sale happening as well as this countdown. Specifically I am looking at Witcher 3 Wild Hunt: Game of the Year edition. It says that that game is included in the welcome offer but I also see it is part of the summer sale. When ~48Hours go past and the countdown hits 0 will the game not be on offer anymore or will I still be able to get the game for a discounted price?

Any help here would be appreciated

Offers expire when the countdown runs out. So if your welcome offer is more than 50 percent off for the Witcher III Wild Hunt - and it is a game you want - snag it now.
Hello, Welcome to Gog. The 50% discount should remain for the entire summer sale.
As Majic noted the 'welcome' offer will run out, but the game will still be on sale throughout the Summer Sale. So if your 'welcome' offer discount is larger than the Summer Sale discount, grab it now.

Only 50% which is good. Thank you for this, also what are the technicalities of downloading and playing games from GOG, I have only used steam before so am unsure of how this all works?

Hello.

Since Witcher 3 is part of the summer sale, you have till 20 June to buy it at a discounted price.

Ah thank you, only 50% off so I got some time to buy it. What are the technicalities of downloading and playing games from GOG? Only used steam so am unsure about this? thanks
What's a welcome offer? Is it something only new users see, or am I just missing something?

There are a couple ways you can do it. If you're more comfortable with as client, you can try GOG Galaxy and DL and install the game (and launch it) through that. Very similar to the Steam client.

If you don't want to bother with the client, you can DL the installer and its parts from your account. Just go to your library and click on The Witcher 3. You'll see there will be several files (8 plus patches if it's not the GOTY edition, 10 parts if it's the GOTY). DL them all to a convenient place but DO NOT unpack them (don't use WinRAR or 7zip or anything like that). You should have an .exe file and several .bin files. Just make sure they're all in the same folder and run the .exe Follow the prompts to install the game wherever you like (Click the Options button in the bottom left if you don't want to install in the default location).

Oh thank you very much, really easy to do then, looking forward to the ease of installing when I get round to buying the GOTY edition thanks! :)

You have a choice. You can download installers using your browser. which is handy because you can put those on a USB stick and easily install your games on (for example) a computer that isn't even attached to the Internet at all.

You can also use Galaxy, which is a client, similar to Steam's, for downloading, updating, launching (et cetera) your GOG games.

No worries. Keep in mind your games here are DRM-free, so if you've got the installer files, you can transfer them to any machine and install without an internet connection and without signing in to a client (although if you use Galaxy, I believe you must sign in to that - but it can still be run offline).

Welcome to GOG!
