Solution so far:
- deactivate your profile (still a bummer that that's necessary. It shouldn't be active by default!)
- don't use Galaxy. Download the offline installers instead.

Voila, Steamification avoided.

You should disable Windows Update and any other auto update programs on your computer too. That'll show 'em!

Or just don't use Windows. Or anything from Apple.

download of offline installers wont solve galaxy issue, if game feature galaxy options (e.g achievements) - these games will still phone gag at will.

Plus some games (there my bbcodes broke, so I ll post links as is) feature non-optional connectivity, unrelated to gag:

If you wanna get control over the telemetry - switch from windows to linux and setup firewall to work as whitelist - allowing only certain programs to connect internets.
If you wanna keep your PC safe - unplug ethernet cable and newer add it back.
If you wanna safe your data as secure, as humanly possible - dont use PC at all

Or anything.

It's an educational PSA. For instance, I just learned that PC is shorthand for "Personal Computer." That'll save me a lot of typing on my Perso... er, PC.

To be fair, I did +1 the OP - because we all have had those moments of sputtering irritation upon facing an affront to our sensibilities.

Or English is not what he would use to, uh, express his sensibilities.

Maybe he thought we'd think he was talking about hooks inside a player character in some game. Now if we could only convince Johnathanamz that he doesn't have to add "(Digital Rights Management)" after he types "DRM". Every. Single. Time.

You just need to make a PSA (Public Service Announcement) about it.
