It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

EDIT: The settings page is often tough to find as well.

Thanks. I'll try that. But if the user has to take extra steps to make a feature work correctly, then they're not doing it right.

EDIT: Well that didn't work. Or rather, I'm sure I screwed it up since it probably does work as evidenced by that thread. Oh well. No biggie.

Well, I'm on Firefox and after reading that thread further others on Firefox had trouble too with it not working on the first try but working on the second. So I tried again and it did work.

But, if there are any techies here, I got a message saying something about "SCAM ALERT" instructing me to type in "Allow Pasting" so I did that.

Then I got a whole lot of stuff I didn't understand and now I'm wondering if I've messed up something. Guess I'll find out. Maybe it's time for a new browser anyway.

OldFatGuy: Is there a way to see your own just to see what it looks like?
If your profile is public, yes. Open a private browsing tab and go to your profile page gog.com/u/<username>

You don't need to type your username, just gog.com/u will redirect to your profile if you are signed in.

Private browsing -> browsing without being logged in, mate. The OP sounded like he wanted to view his profile as others see it. The profile screen you see is slightly different to the screen others see, especially when you start hiding certain things from public view.

SargonAelther: I'd say enable your profile and leave it on for an hour at least. Use https://www.gog.com/u/OldFatGuy if there's no link, but let it be enabled for a while longer, it should sort itself out.

OldFatGuy: Oh I already disabled it again. I thought that enabling/disabling it was causing the change, but since I just disabled it once again I've seen it change twice already. So it seems to be another gog glitch.
Whether or not there's a glitch, my point is that if you want to have a profile, you should enable it and wait. You will not have a profile if you keep it disabled at all times.

Well, just posting this in case others read this. It worked. Yesterday. The purple dot was gone for the first time since.... well since I can remember.

Then today, when I returned, I had a few threads I had responded in have new responses, and the dot was back so I went through each one, twice... then three times... then went and looked in every thread I posted in yesterday to see if maybe one had been responded to that I hadn't checked.....

The purple dot is back. And it appears so far.... permanently again.

I.E., this "fix" would have to be done EVERY TIME the dot comes on.

Not a fix at all.

I swear it is amazing to me the quality of product this company puts on it's webstore. It's not confusing to me why their are rumors of them struggling now. Most serious companies at least try and make sure what the buying public sees is the very best of them. It legitimately appears to me GOG just doesn't care.

Well y'know... as guys get older they tend to get fatter, so yes. Nobody can see their own. That's what partners are for. /dirtyjoke
