Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines 2004. On PC Win 11. Almost finished game ran into glitch can't solve in quest Ming Must Die. The 4 jade animals on pedestals in the temple I can only pick up 3 of 4. On the fourth pick up I can select it and it flashes I press e but it won't place in inventory. I replayed and picked up different order of jade animals and same thing it is not animal specific it is always the last of 4 same problem can't pick up last one. I even tried placing the 3 i have on their pedestals in the oval room and went back still can't pick up last one so can't proceed in game. tried all the obvious restarts deleted some older saves searched the web and youtube no one having this issue. replayed from Buddah room very laborious to replay again.

I had a similar problem picking up a note in Thief 2. Once I read the darn thing, dropping exactly that one item (which was important to do for continuing the story) was confoundingly impossible no matter what key I assigned to "drop". Turns out, the problem was 1 too many mods for plant textures.
