Hello, it's been a while since I posted but I am hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction. I am trying to think of a game from way back when - it might even be abandonware at this point because I think someone at abandonia told me the name years ago on the forums but I have forgotten it. :(
The view was either top-down or kind of similar to Albion when you are walking around. The combat is not the same as Albion since Albion is first-person/round-based and the game I am thinking of is real-time combat when you are walking around like normal.
I want to call it Merrill's Marauders but that's an old military unit and is definitely not the name of the game I am thinking of, but I think the title had alliteration like that.
You could choose your crew of maybe 3 or 4 (?) characters at the very beginning, and it was a sci-fi/space/future game. The first mission had a politician or president or something and you were either supposed to protect him as part of your mercenary contract, or maybe you were supposed to be the one assassinating him, I forget.
Sorry about the vague recollections but this game has to be at least 20, maybe even 25 years old because I played it as a kid. Thanks for any directions you can point me in.
edit - I suppose if I am asking this question, I may as well ask about another game I have searched for. I believe it was a turn-based rpg. It may have had a top-down map and a first-person perspective, kind of like Eye of the Beholder or older games like that. The story was about a town that had a dungeon in the center, and the town would hire adventurers to go down because once, monsters broke out of the dungeon or mine and destroyed a lot of the city. I'm sorry I don't remember as much about this game. Thanks again.
