Many years ago I played a game called Tortuga: Pirates of the New World (in some countries it was called Pirate Hunter).

A few days ago I remembered this game, but unfortunately it's not available on GOG and Steam. I also noticed that another ASCARON series have a similar look and interface.

If you played Tortuga / Pirate Hunter, could you please tell me, which series has a more similar gameplay - Port Royale or Patrician? Or maybe the graphics is the only thing that is similar in these games?

Similar games that weren't made by ASCARON (and available on GOG) are also welcome!

The original title of the game was "Piraten - Herrscher der Karibik". You can still buy the game DRM-free:

Tortuga is a trimmed down version of Port Royale. The developer has removed the complexity of Port Royale's trading system, and kept the sailing and sea fighting. The result is Sid Meier's Pirates in a better graphics engine, but without sword fights. (Port Royale is Patricians in a carribbean atmosphere with more fights and less trading.)

By the way, I found several mentions of this game in the community wishlist.

If anyone is interested, you can vote for it:

It's a good idea!

Moreover, they have Russian representatives, so it will be even easier for me, because I can contact them in my native language.

I will do it on Monday.
