Greetings.

I'm in a classical RTS phase and therefore got curious about who now holds the rights to the TimeGate Studios games? Some of them like the Kohan games are sold on steam though they're not working properly on newer OS and I'd like to know if they might come to GOG.

Another on is Axis & Allies published by ATARI.

ZaineH: According to Steam, TimeGate Studios owns the rights to Kohan. They are listed as the publisher on Steam.
Sorry about that. I forgot to mention that TimeGate Studios went bankrupt a couple years ago. :/

Okay. According to the patent office it's "AUGUSTUS INTELLECTUAL PROPERTIES, INC."

Thank you. I don't think it helped that much but it was what I asked for. :)

I don't understand this though. After a web search I found this http://www.corporationwiki.com/p/2fyri9/augustus-intellectual-properties-inc which confuse me. Is it someone just holding a couple rights or something?

What a coincidink. I emailed Turnipslayerr about some things and one of them was about getting in touch with Adel or Alan Chaveleh as mentioned http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TimeGate_Studios about the Kohan games.

I'd say yes. The president of TimeGate Studios, according to your link.

Hm. I wonder if he's holding it for nostalgia or some other reason? Might be worth it for GOG to contact him and ask for distribution rights.

Did you find out if he holds the rights for all the games that TimeGate Studios developed? I think I read somewhere that ATARI got full rights to Axis & Allies after it was developed.

Hope this helped then. :)

Axis & Allies is still a Hasbro property, so who really knows where the rights lie for that. They actually might of been sold back to Hasbro back in 2005 depending on how well the game did.

Personally, I'd like to see the version from the late 90's published by Microprose that was based on the board game, along with it's expansion. Never did spend anytime with the 2004 RTS, but it would be interesting.

That complicate matters. Unfortunately Hasbro seems to be a company that doesn't much care for publishers like GOG. Hope I'm mistaken here. Also hoping that the rights to the game got sold to someone that is more approachable.

I don't care much for the strategy part in TimeGate Studios Axis & Allies, it is in skirmish that it really shines.
Kohan... please GOG... please... :'(
Any updates about the Kohan series ?
I haven't checked since this thread. Think I'll do some web searching again.
There was also a not-very-good game called 'Time Gate'.

Ah, looks like your too late. Kohan 2 and 3 were on Strategy First, drm free download, but they appear to have gone now. I never could find the first one, so I brought the big box and will image the discs at some point.
