Update 0.18.0.24 (February 21st, 2024)

- A new starmap with fog of war, faction intentions and interstellar events.
- A Comprehensive Sectionalized Tutorial. The tutorial teaches the basics and more advanced concepts to the player, allowing the player to revisit any topic.
- Implemented Interstellar events and more missions. You can now encounter NPC ships in distress needing help when traveling in hyperspace.
- Factions have their own intentions and the starmap is more dynamic, more alive.
- New trade menu. Items can now be discounted, at markup, at a premium or normal price. Trading prices have been changed.
- Command Flags. Some missions allow you to acquire help from NPC's. In these cases you may give commands to the NPC ship, directing it in combat situations.
- Added a ISP dispenser. Provides a way to minimize the chance of acquiring interstellar travel sickness. The pills have some side effects though, affecting the crew member for some time after taking the pill.
- Starmap auto-drop feature has been removed, making starmap travel faster. When jumping to a new star system a drop to normal space will not be forced.
- Starmap icons have been improved and change position based on the zoom level.
- Some new menus for selecting game mode and difficulty levels.
- A new chair to build. A chair resembling a captains chair.
- Added some decorative lockers.
- Added Sound toggle for Arcade machine and Jukebox.
- Many smaller improvements and additions.
- Updated libGDX. The game engine.

Loaf can no longer spawn in the water after a fight.
Player is no longer able to stamp multiple times during level-up.
Resolved an issue where using "Defend" repeatedly on the last enemy would make all the chat usernames the same.
Fixed an issue where butterflies carried Loaf on shorter distances over water when the fourth buddy was equipped.
Yagi's ability can no longer be used during the Coldstock Cottage boss fight.
Fixed a blocker that occurred during fights where the buddy died during the same turn as being possessed, thus preventing the combat turn from ending.

You can now switch between buddies in the overworld with Q or the right bumper on a controller.
The unlocked maps will now display found salamanders and treasures for each level, as well as the level names.
The intensity of screen shake effects can now be adjusted down to 0% or up to 200% (if you actually want motion sickness, you do you).
You can now whack with Right Shift and use the buddy abilities with Right Ctrl on PC. This is now the recommended way to play without a controller.
In the save file selection menu, there is now a button that will go through your save files and fix potential softlocks or corrupted variables. Fixes include:
Unequipping weapons and boons and making sure there are no duplicates.
Making sure consumables items do not exceed the bag cap.
Giving the buddies their correct stats and removing non-existent buddies.
Making sure Loaf isn't saved as being Jester.
Making sure all the glossary information was added.
Disabled the mouse in the pause menu and reworked the controls tooltips on PC.
You can now skip the combat tutorial against the Funguy by skipping the prior cutscene.
You can now loop through pause menu pages (go from options to weapons directly and vice versa).
Moved professor Beryl to a more accessible part of the Outskirts. Professor Beryl and Rita appear in the Outskirts as soon as you can go back into the forest.
Changed the dialogue lines in the first cutscene with Klein in the Solemn Sepulture.
In the card glossary menu, players will now see the stacked cards they have collected.
Hint boards and objects have been placed in Royal Town, Righteous River and Misty Woods, with new lines in all available languages.
Added sound cues and cameras to the Treasure Rooms objectives.
Tweaked the spawn physics of clovers in dirt mound actors.
Added text to the description that appears when picking up boons.
Updated some button textures for keyboard users.
Minor changes to some lines of text in various places.

The player now needs to complete the quest "A Taste of Inspiration" before starting "Sweet Success".

• Fixed a bug where the client objects appear to be frozen in place until the game is restarted.
• Fixed learning a stacked scroll making the remainder of the stack unusable.
• Fixed a crash that happens after several loadscreens on some Linux systems.
• Fixed the bug report message pointing at the wrong URL.
• Fixed the MacOS binaries not containing the aarch64 build.
• Fixed screen capture tools like OBS and Steam not being able to read the full framebuffer content.

Because I have that exact hotfix (setup_wolfenstein_the_new_order_1.0.0.2_hotfix_(german)_(36443)) sitting on my HDD already, since April last year (downloaded on April, 4th 2023).

And I'd rather not re-download 45 GB of files, if it's not really necessary.

I am unable to say what changed, but now that the downloads are fixed I can confirm that the install files are different. Both a small difference in file size and different CRC hash.
But I am not redownloading them myself. I assume this is a backend screwup that triggered a rebuild by GOGs installer script.
