Adding to that is the Email Group that was discovered, a 150 member group for Games Journalists from varying sites to discuss articles, which while it might sound innocent, there's emails that they also talked about the kind of message that they wanted to push in their articles, and it sounds like they had a narrative of their own that they have been spinning for quite some time.

Same here. I haven't done as much gaming as before Gamergate started (except for Risen 3, that game rocks!), instead I have spent a lot of time after work reading about the latest updates for example on www.knowyourmeme.com since it has a big image gallery of screengrabs... Usually I would just ignore this kind of event, but this debate (or should I call it a civil war at this point) kinda got to me. :S

And regarding that quote, I am stil baffled by the behavior of some of the gaming press and developers. Are these people not aware that the same people, that they are insulting are also the ones, that could put money in their pockets!?!

It just shows that the gaming industry is still at it's infant stage apperantly. I mean, you don't see Coca Cola, Sony or BMW shit on their consumers...

They claim to be about social justice, but instead of, like, volunteering at a soup kitchen, they play l33t haxxor to terrorise people on the intenet (ironically, and perhaps quite unsurprisingly, their targets seem to be predominantly women and people of colour) who call them out on their startling hypocrisy. I think we need to find something new to call these people, cause let's be honest, I can't disagree.

Awesome, glad I backed that game :D I was a little on the fence (the idea looks amazing but I hadn't heard of the studio before so didn't know if it would work out). But seeing an exchange like that, it makes me more confident that they'll try their best to deliver on the game and not let their customers down.

Archon has just confirmed that the anti-GG side is DDOSing the Escapist forums by having the #GG thread there reload itself 10000s of times over and over. THIS? THIS? Along with the harassment of transgendered people and women on the side of GG, is worth fighting for? This is it? Where's the moral high ground now?

All of this is fucking inexcusable, and this is the main reason GG will win. These parasites will literally eat their own.

That's just it though -- women and other minorities aren't "their own." They define themselves by their over-zealous beliefs more than anything else. If anything they're even more vicious towards women and minorities who disagree with them because that challenges their narrative that they're speaking on our behalf.
