bhrigu: My Neverwinter Nights code (included in this giveaway) still shows expiration date as "NEVER".

If they think they will make giveaway keys time-limited, fine. But doing that retroactively isn't a good decision I think.
As far as I understand it's not turning old codes from unlimited to expiring. It's rather a future decision to make all giveaway codes time limited. And in the specific case of Fantasy General they've just made a mistake and decided to correct it in the worst possible way.

By the way, I wonder if this thread is one of the reasons they've decided to establish time limits for promo codes. It's quite obvious that unlimited codes are ideal for illegal vending and may have negative impact on sales...
Such a waste : (
It breaks my heart that turn-based games seem to shun by most people. :(

I'd love to try Master of Magic, the granddaddy of Age of Wonders.

By the way, this is another game that I always end up skipping every sale, in favor of other games that I seem to find more appealing at that time.

O! Sorry then, probably got it wrong.
At least the situation is still better than that of steam though.

So lemme get this straight, the "never" listing was a bug and if you're too late in asking compensation (say, I dunno, a month or two down the road from now since you didn't read the forum and didn't know), then sucks to be you?
Oy gevalt, what a waste.

solar_dome: I contacted support about my expired 'Mount & Blade' code.
Here is the reply.

Same response I got from support. Looks like I should've taken a screenshot of my code. :(

Yes, unfortunately this is the way the new and improved GOG support is working now :(

Well, they made this "mistake" at least three times now (Constructor, Mount + Blade, Fantasy General). When is a mistake starting to become a bad habit?

Just give them a couple of months and they'll tell you that all of those DRM-free promises were a bug and you're now forced to install this totally optional client in order to play your games. It seems adding free goodies to games was also a bug. Man, this site sure used to be buggy!
I'm wonder if all previous freebies from past sales (Age of Wonders, LBA 1 & 2, Giants, System Shock 2...) will expire one day too ?
I received Master of Magic. Thank you, gogtrial34987, for your donation, and thank you zeogold, for maintaining this giveaway.

If this continues the way it's going it seems to be a big possibility :-/

You're very welcome. Enjoy this fabulous game! (I recently started playing it again as well, and wow, had forgotten how hard the initial ramp up is. But it still has all of its magic!)
Can I have Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga key, please? If it's still available.
Also looking for Baldur's Gate 2 Original. Can even trade some of my spare Steam keys.

I think you should also check the Eador: Genesis codes. I checked mine today and it showed up as expired.

Mmmm I think there is some confusion going on here.

Has anyone actually lost a game they claimed, or that ever appeared in their library?

The way I am reading this topic, is that people got a code to claim by, but never used it ... heaven's knows why. I always use it immediately I get it or shortly thereafter. Once the game is in your library it should be safe forever ... supposedly.

And I rely on nobody's cloud. Once I get a game, I download as soon as possible and backup to several external drives.

Things happen, mistakes are made, etc.

Hi,
have you by any chance gotten a replacement key for that, soon after the original gift email?
It could have been marked as spam.

I have gotten the following message soon after the original email:

From: GOG.com Support [GOG email address specific to Eador key]
To: [my email address]
Subject: GOG.com: Replacement key for Eador: Genesis
Date: Thu, 11 May 2017 18:41:45 +0200 (05/11/2017 07:41:45 PM)

Hello,

Shortly after launching the Eador: Genesis giveaway, we noticed that a
portion of the codes which we sent were invalid. We apologise for any
inconvenience caused.

Please use the replacement code below instead:
http://www.gog.com/redeem/[gift code here]

Kind regards,
GOG.com Support Team
The replacement code is still valid (expires on July 11, 2017).
