NuffCatnip: I think Tobey Maguire was much better than Garfield
They are both (very) bad. But yea, maguire was the lesser bad.

Hunter65536: About genisys, I didn't understand how that good Arnold came to be in this timeline. Was it explained in the movie somewhere? Also I think it is a good news considering the quality of genisys that they are cancelling that trilogy.

RogueXanter: I think the TV show was supposed to explain in more detail but I believe both he and the T-1000 were sent to a point before the timelines split apart and thus continued to exist in both timelines.
What TV show? Sarah Connor Chronicles have nothing to do with Genisys.

It was not explained in the movie who sent the now-aged T-800 to protect Sarah. It was intentionally left a mystery for the future movies.

They were going to make a new Terminator TV show which would tie into the new movie trilogy and I read somewhere that it was supposed to explain who sent Pops back, why his memory of who sent him back was wiped, and such

Jesus. Everyone went crazy with those planned "universes" with multiple interlocking movies and TV shows after Marvel. That just goes to show what kind of success studios are expecting from their franchises these days. Everyone wants to do Marvel/Star Wars, and anything smaller is just not an option. Good thing the rights to the rest of Tolkien's works are off limits, or there would be a Children of Hurin tv show in the works right now, with The New Shadow being developed into a new movie trilogy. So what if it's only 13 pages!
