New gaming computer, running Linux.

Instructions tell me to select "Offline backup Installer" - but no such options appears for my game.

'Support' has my in a bot-loop, telling me to generate a "systems Report"
using data from my Install . . . when a failed installation is the problem!!

How on Earth is this company so successful
with CS like this?

Is there Any way to speak to a Person about my problem?

But you only have a "demo" in your library ?.

And I guess this is the most important part of your post...

"How on Earth is this company so successful

There are no "offline backup installers" for Linux, they're just installers.

See staff directions for opening a support ticket. If you're still having trouble, you can try e-mailing support (at) gog (dot) com
Good news!™

I've noticed that the bot does not accept .txt or .html files, so a system report (which is in html format), or dxdiag.txt if you're on windows, could not be attached, even if you could generate it.

Didn't want to risk $ until I could be sure I could play, so tried with Demo first.

"doesn't work" is not a very useful error message.

No one can tell you what to do if they don't know what you did wrong or what the result of your actions was.
