All right, so I've integrated my Galaxy with my Steam and now I have a nice list of all my Steam titles inside Galaxy. Yeah, but what does it mean in practice? Can I actually play them "from" Galaxy? For example, if I press *Install* in Galaxy, will the game be installed in my Galaxy game folder or my Steam game folder?

??

PS.
This doesn't refer only to steam integration but also the other available integrations such as UPlay or XBoxLive, etc.

Hey! Thanks a lot. A very informative reply...
You're saying you've integrated Galaxy with Steam and have all your steam games listed, and are asking if you can play them from within Galaxy.

Surely faster than asking here would be to tap one of the (perhaps smaller?) games and install and check?

Glad to have helped!

How do you know it will be faster? Maybe it will be slower, wise guy?
Maybe it's only faster in Pakistan?

You will still need Steam, uPlay, etc, clients installed to install & play (and each client will probably install to their usual default place, eg, C:\Program Files\Steam\Steamapps for Steam, etc), what Galaxy does is simply "launch the launchers" with a shortcut link that in turn tells them to launch their games. Think of it like Playnite - it's a "meta-launcher" that you could use it to launch DRM-Free games directly from any source - GOG, Humble, retail disc, etc, but for 95% of DRM'd stuff on Steam, all GOG can do is embed a "Start the Steam / uPlay / Origin client and tell it to start this game" shortcut without really ever having direct control over that platform. This may disappoint some who were expecting "one launcher installed" but that will never happen precisely because of Valve, Ubisoft, EA's, etc, and game publishers addiction to DRM.

Edit: If you want every game from every platform in one folder on the disc, eg, C:\Games, then all you can really do is change Steam's install folder from within the Steam client then repeat for other clients until they all point in the same place.

I wouldn't know, but if you feel your internet is slower in Poland than in Pakistan, my condolences!

It's been 30 minute since you posted your topic. I don't know about Poland or Pakistan, but here, I would have been able to download a 3-4GB game and tried it out by now (never mind a 200-300MB indie game). But I'm sure it was worth it to wait for someone to tell you instead.

Good luck with your answers!

Thanks for your input, paki. Really appreciated.

Ok. Thanks a lot. So I understand a game must be first installed with the other client (Steam, Uplay, etc), right? Galaxy only acts as a kind of "initiator"?

Hahahaha...veering way off from the topic at hand, but you did happen to refer to me by an (hopefully unintentional) inapplicable racist term, so it makes me wonder...you're really obsessed with the country I've listed in my From tag :D. Is it the first thing that jumped out when you saw my profile? Was PAKISTAN PAKISTAN PAKISTAN all you could see, with the word dancing around your eyes?

Do you want to go and visit Pakistan?

Notice how I didn't make any generalisation about your "From" country based on your ridiculous behaviour?

That's pretty much it. All GOG can do with Galaxy is issue launch commands to other clients. I don't know if it's possible to install Steam games via Galaxy but if it is, it will certainly just involve Galaxy launching the Steam client in the background and install via that using whatever defaults you have. There's really nothing more GOG can do for DRM'd stuff.

Simply put, sometimes it's better to STFU if don't have anything useful to say. Keep that in mind and you might avoid unpleasantness in your life. Catch you later ;-)

Sometimes it's worth it to call out people who are being asses, but you're absolutely right! Have a good day!
