Pyromancer138: Both variants are "mods" and Wesp5 never respected the Vanilla version, he is a liar. You can do whatever you want but be aware that even the basic patch includes a lot of stupids modifications.

paladin181: So how do you remove the Unofficial patch from the official GOG download so you can install the True Patch and mods on top of it? Because the Unofficial patch is baked into the GOG install.
It is not as easy as it looks.

Fortunately, Tessera could be release a mod to remove The Unofficial Patch:

But he needs to know that count on our full support, so if you are really interested in the true patch gold please,do not hesitate and send an email to him and one to GoG too.

NuffCatnip: Brujah or Gangrel as they are the best for melee.
Haven't played the other clans yet.
Do yourself a favour and play as a Malkavian in your second playthrough. :D

Installing the game again just now, damn it! :P

Elmofongo: Is Nosferatu good at melee?
I didn't have too many problems with a melee Nosferatu, I'd say give it a shot if that's what you want to go for. :)

Edit: Keep in mind I never finished my Nosferatu playthrough (stopped at the middle of the game), only played through the game as a Brujah, Gangrel and a Malkavian.

I wouldn't play Nosferatu for a first playthrough, it forces you to play in a specific way, that is hiding yourself, going through sewers etc., because you're clearly non-human and will draw unwanted attention by going around openly. Might be a fun challenge for later, but not when you're new to the game imo.

This.

Noz playthrough is for second or 3rd replay because it requires a lot of effort to play it.
Great for role play, sneaking as that scary vampire, in shadows and scaring the poor victims...
But as a gameplay, especially the first one, you are going to miss a lot, will be inconvenienced by the mechanics and the chore of travel.
I wouldn't recommend playing Guns as a first playthrough. I played a Gun-wielding Toreador and I didn't even feel like I was a vampire, just some dude with some special powers. Playing as melee Gangrel or Nosferatu really makes you feel like a blood-sucking monster.

Well I am a Ventrue and I doubt these guys would sully their pretty hands with blood in a melee.

I am gonna try Gangrel and Nosferatu for a Melee playthrough.
I think on my second playthrough, I was a Tremere, and it worked out pretty well. My first was Brujah I believe, hand-melee, and I found it a little frustrating basically because major adversaries were always OP ranged foes for the most part, and if they actually came up melee-close, they hit crazy-hard. . . otherwise, they were always flying around, teleporting, stunning/dazing and all that magick-y cheese. I always got the impression that the game was biased toward ranged tactics.
