park_84: Yep, it was
Shadow Madness. I don't have it but apparently it's just a disk image packaged together with a PS1 emulator.
This is a game published by Piko, which is a company that tends to do stuff like this, they're kind of devoted to old games and rely quite a lot on emulation, several of their other titles on the store are just ROMs from old systems.
O thanks, that's a good find. It does indeed have a disk image (cd1 and cd2 glued together into one image) and emulating layer. Pretty interesting release, considering it's ps1 game... I mean, capcom and sega does it their own way with retro collections running their own emulators. I remember a game on steam a while ago that was based on ps1 version, but instead was reversengineered to run on pc.
I know of Piko the publisher, but I didn't know that they were using Bleem!, let alone doing a commercial ps1 release(s). There's hope for more, although I think they will focus on pretty obscure titles if they can get their hands on the IP. Still, pretty cool.
We can only hope that Konami wakes up and notices free money up for grabs.
