Just bought this on GOG. The manual seems remarkably short and sketchy. I am having trouble with the controls.

How do you quit the game while playing? The only way out I have found is to use task manager to stop the program.

I cannot figure out how to equip/ unequip items in invetory. Seems like I'm constantly unintentionally dropping things. I never had any of these troubles with Oblivion. Perhaps I am having some issues with running this on my Windows 10 64bit machine?

Is there somwhere a more detailed manual I can download?

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Hello. There is indeed a better manual for the older version of Skyrim, but manuals are a scary thing nowadays, so it got axed for the new version. You can find it here:

On the quicksave/save/load system menu scroll down untill quit is visible
Trick with Skyrim's UI in my opinion is to accept it's keyboard focused. Use Tab or Esc to bring menus up, then navigate them with WASD and the confirm button. It works surprisingly well that way, once you get used to it. Using the mouse in the menus is a nightmare.

You mean controller-focused. this game was built with consoles in mind and PC as an after thought when they designed the UI. That's why SkyUI is so popular.

Sure, whatever., The point is I like the UI quite a lot once I got used to using WASD for it instead of the mouse. Just my opinion.

Of course it's your opinion. I can't fault you for it, but I will judge you like I look at people who order a steak well done and put ketchup on it. ;)
