Relic Entertainment appears to be transitioning to a more Independent studio however layoffs have hit Creative Assembly and Sega Hardlight.

"Changing Economic Landscape" is being blamed for this downsizing.

Honestly though Sega can easily make some money by releasing more of there catalogue here DRM free.
I guess I did not expect Persona to be sold here but I did think Valkyria Chonicles might have been. Never did though.
Wow, a lot happening today!

IMHO COH 3 showed that the new Relic is only a shadow of the old Relic. Let's see what they make now...

Less war for Sega it seems. I'm curious to see if or how this will impact the next total war title.
Sega only needs to release Jet Set Radio Future here and the power of FUNK alone will propel them back to the road of success.

And maybe they could also bring the good old Total Wars like Shogun II here, that'd be quite nice because gods know we'll not be seeing a great Total War game ever gain.

Is this Relic the same that created Homeworld and Impossible Creatures?

I think these are the only games that are here on GOG, if I am not mistaken...

[edit] Found another: we have Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War as well.

You mean this was showed already with DOW3.

Relic at one time made some of the best RTS games. You forgot Company of Heroes 1 and 2.

I hope this means we could get COH 1 and 2 on GOG soon.

Bring on more SEGA games here! Would love to pick some of them up.

It seems potentially good for fans of Relic if splitting from Sega means that they'll release their games here on their own. As for Sega themselves, they clearly don't want my money as they haven't released the Persona games here.
I don't care about Relic. They haven't made a good game in eons, and their good games are all from previous generations, whereas their modern games are trashy cashgrabs.

But yes, hopefully maybe this news might provide an incentive for SEGA finally to release the Persona games here on GOG, which is something that they should have done years ago, and this is also a point that GOG should press SEGA on, given that GOG told its shareholders that GOG's contract with SEGA is extensive when that partnership was first announced (which means there is no excuse for SEGA to continue holding back their good stuff from GOG, even though they do).

Still wouldn't surprise me if the dumbing-down of Relic's games and cash-grabby part came from SEGA's orders, or else.

I put nothing past these publishers, once they own a studio...
