We have some great newcomers from Shiravune – Primal Hearts and Primal Hearts 2 are now available on GOG, both launching with a 20% launch discount until February 26th, 9 AM UTC!

Primal Hearts
After moving into a new town hoping for a new life, Kazuma finds himself the swing vote between two deadlocked factions representing tradition and innovation. Nicknamed “Triple Seven”, can he still live easy and find romance under his new status as a much-contested lucky guy?

Primal Hearts 2
As new rivalries and old divisions threaten to split Ainoshima apart once again, only a new “Triple Seven” can restore peace once more! Torn between the machinations of the Liberal Arts and Sports factions, can our hero heal everyone's hearts — and steal just one?

Now on GOG!
Nice to see more stuff from Shiravune

Don't know anything about this two, but nice all the same.

Thanks GOG
Many thanks for bringing these Pure Love Romance Visual Novel/Eroge!
A potent medicine for any lonely soul!
You’re the best Shiravune and GOG! Keep the Visual Novels coming!

Hopefully you’ll also bring the DLC expansion of Living With Sister: Monochrome Fantasy pretty please!

Nah, I agree. Glad to see them here but these were a pass for me. We've got better games coming next week like Geminism and Criminal Border 3.
I am actually curious about these but not sure how good they are. Are they fairly new? Well written? Any anime adaptations in the works? How do they stand against classics like Key’s Kanon or Love, Election and Chocolate or A Good Librarian is a Good Shepherd? I think they are in the same genre, right? I hope they are outstanding but I cannot seem to find much information about them.

These make me wonder why there arent manga like the game. I remember 30 or so years back, physical media books called "choose your own path". Unless its the sound and the digital aspect, that appeals to people. But its literally same thing over and over. Xerox with different characters.

Aren’t there? School romance manga and anime are among the most common staples given it’s target audience. And game books are still a thing. Ian livingston released a game book as recently as 2022. I think the Choose your own adventure series remains a thing as well. But game books tend to simulate ttrpgs rather than romances. I don’t think romance focused game books really took off in the west. Adult readers would just read a atraight romance or erotic novel without the gaming aspect, which appeal more to a younger audience, who respond more readily to fantasy adventure or sci fi. Romances tend to be rather boring by comparison, unless aided by amazing visuals. And it would be rather complicated to have a choose your own adventure style romance with randomized passages and stats recording your progress. At least I’ve never seen one. It’s not impossible though but the mechanics might get crazy complicated. Look at Konami’s Tokimeki Memorial series for a really complex romantic rpg, with a few years worth of school calendar and more than a dozen stats and items, along with a dozen heroines with different schedules and conquest requirements. Regular visual novels just track key decisions and all this is recorded internally so you can read through it like a regular novel with visuals that mimic character body language for example. With a great artist involved, you can do a lot. Pure novels that leave everything to the reader’s own imagination does have it’s own appeal i admit but I personally love to see the amazing artwork a visual novel includes in it’s package. And some settings really gain from amazing visuals and music to set a scene’s tone. Well, i think visual novels have been around for decades, with dozens if not hundreds released each year. They are not all going to be amazing though, like all art or literature. Personal preference is also a thing. I’ve been blown away by quite a few but still look forward to something amazing all the time. It’s a reason to look forward to waking up tomorrow.

That's your opinion and maybe you are not alone with it as well ... but it's an opinion only and "meh" is saying nothing and helping nobody. At the very least explain what's so "meh" about it. I know the user would not be able to explain it since he never played any of these games and never will ... but posting his disgust is obviously something he really has fun with.

I kind of agree here.
