Dont know what to say.. I would rather have remasters of LSL 2 and specially 3.. they were both good, specially 3... I am happy they they stuck with a point and click formula; but I dont feel that LSL is needed at this time.. a new space quest or a new gabriel knight would have been more appreciated i guess? I will wait for a reviews and a big sale...
happy to see this here. will play when i get home.

Larry without Al Lowe is just not Larry. I will also wait for a sale.
It has a really nice art style going for it (the "looks like it was assembled in Flash" approach which seems to be a trend with a lot of western animation these days), which is better than what could be said of Magna Cum Laude by far.

That price though. I'm wondering if most of that is going to Assemble who are then funneling it back to Codemasters for the Larry IP licensing fees.

Agree. I'll wait for a sale. I have a huge backlog and I'd certainly like to see some reviews first.

I have all the LSL's (even 4 ;-) including MCL though I couldn't get through it. I got tired of the mini-games. I do still need to finish Reloaded and back in the day I never finished 2 but I did get it here so maybe I should crack that open.

My first was 3, one of the first games I got when I got my first PC...yes, I'm THAT old. Ah mammari...er...MEMORIES! YEAH, Memories.

While I am somewhat curious about this, I'll be waiting for some reviews.

Larry 2 should be completely re-written, really, so I don't think a mere re-master would be enough to fix it.

It's disappointing to see how minimal the animation is in this game. It's 95% rotation, scaling and translation, and 5% actual frames.
just put about 30 min into it and it seems like a completely decent larry game. theres some pretty funny stuff here if i do say so myself.

that said, im not exactly a tough crowd when it comes to dick, fart, and sex jokes. in fact even to this day i think the word "scrotum" is utterly gut busting.

Honestly though, Larry Reloaded wasn't an Al Lowe game either. Even though it was heavily marketed that way, but from what I can tell his involvement in Reloaded was basically being a picture on the box and approving the final product, while the actual writing was done by Sierra alumnus Josh Mandel. I guess I'm trying to say that not every Larry game Al Lowe touched was gold (see below), and not every Larry game without Al Lowe's involvment was altogether terrible either.

Agreed. Larry 2 was an elaborate ploy to sell hintbooks.
I did not keep up with this, but it sounds like they got Jan Rabson back as Larry, which they originally hadn't.

There is a fan-made point'n'click version of it, but it keeps gameplay, graphics and other things as they were in the original, but simply allows pointing and clicking instead of parser input.

Being parser driven wasn't the problem Larry 2 has. It was the whole of game design.

Because he was stuck in the chicken.

Critics saw this different obviously (according to wiki):

Leisure Suit Larry Goes Looking for Love (in Several Wrong Places) received mostly highly positive reviews upon its release, including the overall scores of 9/10 from Commodore User and 90% from Computer & Video Games. Even a 1994 re-release by Kixx earned the Amiga version an 84%.

In his contemporary review, Bob Guerra of Compute! stated that the game was a "terrific sequel to one of the best adventure games ever written" that surpassed its predecessor and was "thoroughly entertaining from beginning to end. The story is as interesting as anything you're likely to find on network television, and less predictable to boot". It praised the graphical and story details that, the magazine said, "create the illusion that you're peeking into a" living world.

Retrospectively, Adventure Classic Gaming's Zack Howe opined in 2000 that while it "may not be the best game in the Leisure Suit Larry series, it is still a humorous and an entertaining title to play."
