Salvaging the future.

Forsaken Remastered is now available DRM-free on GOG.COM, 10% off until August 8th, 8am UTC
The cult, futuristic 3D shooter of relentless action returns! Ride your hoverbike and blast the enemy scavengers with a devastating arsenal of primary and secondary weapons and a 360-degree range of freedom. This Remaster features anti-aliasing, ambient occlusion and motion blur effects, a slicker display HUD, unique levels and enemies previously available only in the N64 version, and several other improvements.
Looks like someone went overboard with the texture filtering. That's one fugly blurry mess.

Vythonaut: Nice to see Forsaken getting some love from Nightdive; it was one of Probe's best games along with Alien Trilogy on PSX (and to a lesser extent Die Hard Trilogy, also on PSX)...
Oh I loved those. They weren't bad for being movie licensed games.

Used to have Forsaken on N64. A bit hard for me to get very far at the time, but now I get another shot at it.

tfishell: Nice!

I hope ND is able to port Turok 3 and perhaps Rage Wars despite them only having been on N64.
I definitely hope for port of Turok N64.
And Golden Eye!

When I read "Forsaken Remastered" I was hoping it would be the 3DFX Descent clone. Glad that I was right. Still a bit too pricey for my taste since at least the non remastered version is pretty old but it definitely will go on my wishlist. Thanks GOG and Nightdive.

I remember that one. Best played on 3dfx
Pretty much a "Descent" clone.OK, but nothing to get excited about.
I got Forsaken as a "bundled item" (most likely with a video card, but I can't recall specifically). I was underwhelmed by the presentation... so it stayed in my "maybe someday" pile for a long time. When I finally installed it, parts of it still underwhelmed... a total lack of actual story, for example... but the "fun factor" was much higher than I expected.

So, seeing that Night Dive was working on this, a while back, I decided that I'd definitely pick it up once it came out. The price, at release, is SLIGHTLY high, but considering how much trouble I went through getting the original Win9x release working on my modern system (and that without the enhancements)... I think the price is reasonable.
Looks good but not at $18 for moi, so wishlisted. I'm not saying the game isn't worth that, I'm just a casual shooter fan.
Has anyone tried the game yet? Is there a skirmish or arena mode?
While I like the idea of old title being made available again, this hardly quality as a remaster. Seems more like a compatibility patch, which is not bad itselft but I would like things to be named accordingly.
About the price, I believe it is too much, it's an old game and so should be priced accordingly, expecially if the work done on it isn't much.

I wonder what is the situation of multiplayer. Someone said it require authentication for it but I don't see it reported on the game page.

The multiplayer modes are Free For All, Team Game, Bounty Hunt, Team Bounty Hunt, Capture The Flag and Flag Chase.
The network modes are Custom Lobby (Invite Only), Custom Lobby (All Followers) and Public Lobbies.

That sounds good! Does it also allow the user to choose specific maps and the number of AI opponents?
To those who bought it: does it really have a DX10 mode as the requirements suggest, or is it actually DX11? I need a DX11 mode to make a better 3D Vision fix, whenever I buy the game.
