Gloranor: Any update on this? I've tried a full reinstall and Flashpoint content still isn't available.

3eyedfish: According to GOG, I need to update to the 1.3 version of the game.

Downloaded the patch, but it won't install. Gave me a whole log file full of errors. There's 6 hours wasted.

I really don't want to download the entire game again. Took almost 2 days the last time.

After this, I won't be buying any more DLCs for this, or any other HBS game.
That all sounds like an issue DRM-related. That's what happens when you offer a drm-free game, add the dlc content already to the game with the last patch (occupying more space in your hd) and then block the content behind an auth server online instead of offering dlc's that add the content. That's not exactly drm-free. It's the same as the extra content for backers, we can't simply install anything because it's already installed and it doesn't show in game unless you login to Paradox :(

EVEN IF you are correct, since they said they are going to fix it now, all is well.

Absolutely, and i'm really glad for you. I only hope that all the blocked content for me was also fixed to be disposable offline :(
So, has this been fixed or what?
avatar
elcook: Sorry for all the trouble. We should have a fix for the DLC from the developer today. Will update here when it goes live.
avatar
Gloranor: Thanks, that's good to hear :)
The devs uploaded a fix for the offline Flashpoint DLC on the weekend, so it should be all good now.
Unfortunately, there is a bug that prevents you from playing cross-play multiplayer. This is being addressed and should be fixed today, tomorrow the latest.
Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.

Does this mean I don't need to be online or anything like that to install the Flashpoint DLC? With the offline files?

As a gamer who doesn't use the client, thank you. I am going to order it tonight.

I'm very interested in this game but seeing as how it's being published by Paradox I guess I'll have to wait a couple years till they release a complete version, I hate buying piecemeal games.

Kakarot96: A bit burned about all, it's a shame because i love the franchise and that's why i backed the project, but was not expecting the alliance with Pdox, the changes at the very last hour of how we could access all our content (changes after the Pdox alliance to go through their auth servers instead of having local unblocked content), the versions they gave to GOG users, the posterior sell of the studio to Paradox...too much for me :(
I feel the same way, the whole Battletech thing is feeling like a sly bait and switch

Haven`t even got the DLC yet cos I`m that put off even though I am an original fan of Battletech. I just don`t feel like giving them my money. They just haven`t earned my respect yet. Also the whole pc gender identity thing put me off too. No place for it anywhere let alone BattleTech, Just cos the lead Dev is a trans don`t mean we need his personal identity shoved in our games.

I`m doing X4 while I consider what to do about Battletech.

I bought the expansion. I have not yet been able to access a flashpoint yet for two key reasons.

One, they pop up a little notice, but it pretty much always popswhile you have a window open and you cannot read it. Then it disappears before you can scribble down whatever system the flashpoint is in.

Two, they do not really show up on the map. Would it not be **STELLAR** for Flashpoints to show up on the interstellar map as, ooh I don't know . . . maybe BRIGHT STARS or something???? Is that too much to ask?

So yeah . . .maybe there are some jungles out there somewhere too. . . I heard that rumor, but then maybe I was drunk in a bar somewhere on Circinus at the time?

I love the game, but I think maybe it might have been rushed a bit. Sorry, I was not around for the backer bit, but perhaps I should have been. I was playing the game back before most the current players were born it seems. We have some things to fix. Let's not point fingers. Let's just fix them and move on.

Yeah, I get the Trans thing. People want to see others like themselves. If involved in a creative endeavor, it might be natural to slip something in like that. Sorry, sad but true. It happens. It is not good for business. It can even crash an enterprise when you are dealing with more conservative folk, and wargamers tend to lean pretty conservative. Hopefully, not too much of that will become ingrained in final products.
