Sim Heaven & Hell.

Afterlife, a Lucasfilm god game, a GOG.com digital premiere, is available now for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux--DRM-free on GOG.com.

Afterlife is... a weird game. It's so many things at once, and a few brand new concepts to boot. The premise is an otherworldly twist on SimCity - you're in charge of supplying a satisfactory afterlife experience to the inhabitants of the Planet. The Planetfolk, called EMBOs (or Ethically Mature Biological Organisms) and their SOULs (Stuff of Unending Life) need to be fully supplied with all the pleasure or pain they've earned in life - that includes an absolutely divine final reward, or a sadistic punishment. With plenty of structures, a complex tenet system (watch out for those HOHORALFSUMAists!), and extremely detailed sim mechanics - Afterlife is a unique, satirical god game to die for.

The game includes the official Reference Guide, courtesy of our forum friend EnforcerSunWoo. (Thank you!)

Don't fear the reaper, fear the disco inferno in Afterlife, a digital premiere now DRM-free on GOG.com!
Oh, lovely game. Yes, it was a kind of flawed version of Sim City 2000, but THE MUSIC.

LostExile: Oh, I still have to original box+CD+manual of this.
Judas said that they couldn't find a manual for it, so if you can scan it (or send it to them), it may be worth it to contact Judas or support.

Its in Dutch, not sure if that makes it useful.
I had a horrible, horrible day at work. I come home grumpy, find my electric kettle isn't working right and for some odd reason my Netflix payment didn't get processed. . . o_0

I sit down at the computer, fix Netflix issue and check if GoG has anything new. . .OMG AFTERLIFE!!!

GOG HAS AFTERLIFE!!

IT'S AFTERLIFE!!!

*SQUEEEEE*

I hear the old kettle in the kitchen whistling. Purchased Afterlife and now my day is looking a bit better.

Yay for GoG!!
Thank you, but when will we see other Star Wars (Racer, Shadows of the Empire, Jedi Outcast, Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Rebel Assault series etc.) and Indiana Jones games (aka Infernal Machine, Indiana Jones and His Desktop Adventures, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Action Game etc.)?

Unfortunately, you can forget about that one entirely. It's a 16 bit game exclusively for Windows 3.1 and won't run on a 64 bit OS.

What about some type of Wine emulation or similar?

I'm not sure if it would work in Wine, but for Windows 7 and the like, it still seems to be an unsurmountable obstacle. I think there are a few games that would already be on GOG if it wasn't for this very problem, or at least that's what I've gathered from several comments made by staff members.

EDIT: Interestingly, the "successor" to Indiana Jones and his Desktop Adventures, Yoda Stories, seems to work with modern systems.

Windows XP Mode for Win7 Pro or Ultimate. Alternatively, DOSBox and Win3.1, or any other kind of VM.
You can run 16-bit applications with some effort, but selling a ready to run package is much harder due to requiring a Windows license as well.

BillyMaysFan59: More LucasArts is definitely appreciated. Keep 'em coming, Disney!

tfishell: Very nice release. I continue to be a tad disappointed that the "definitive" versions of TIE Fite and X-Wing still aren't here, but Seth Davis tweets keep hope alive.

BillyMaysFan59: Also the original versions of Monkey Island 1 and 2 would be nice, hopefully we'll see them here as well.
Huh?
The orginals are implemented in the remasters if i recall.
Just Press F1, or press Page Up for Classic Mode and Page Down for Enhanced Version.

Or im i missing something?

About afterlife.
Never heard of it, wishlisted for now

Just want to quickly point out that there *is* an option to build "just one" on lower difficulties. At the very beginnning of the game, the culture has only spread to one or two squares on the planet. HEAVILY investing in OCRA or OPRA (only heaven or only hell, respecitively - "only cloud realms await" and "only pit realms await) there to raise it to as nearly 100% as possible WILL cause the planet to develop along those lines. There'll be a very small minority who believes in both or the "other" one, but they're negligible (again, on lower difficulties - on the highest ones they'll bring down your income too much).
OPRA is actually easy: build the least diverse and most crappily designed SimCity and ta-da, you succeed. OCRA is a bunch harder.
In either case, it's impreative you NEVER built a gate to the "other" realm. Once you do, the demand rises, all the complaints start, and whatever. As long as you don't open it up, and suppress the believe in it strong enough early on enough, it's fine.

I, also, still have the box and the manual - but also only in Dutch :P
:-) Nice one centurian.

Yep, this is the correct answer. Unless you have a 32-bit OS or Windows 7 Pro/Ultimate/Enterprise, you'll have to install an older version of Windows within a virtual machine like DosBox or VirtualBox.

Also, you can download both Indiana Jones Desktop Adventures as well as Yoda Stories (which runs fine on Win 7 64-bit) for free on this website, since they seem to be abandonware: https://sites.google.com/site/indysdesktop/home22

Note to Judas:I have a copy of the manual from when the game was included in the Lucararts Archieve collection Vol 3. I scanned it in PDF for my own conviencee, but could easily send you a copy or upload it to GOG if I receive instuctions as to how. It's a scan, but should be easy to clean up.

BTW forget about running the INDY Jones adventures on 64 bit computer. Yoda stories run fine though in the download verison.

Where is the download version? I have the disc but that's obviously a no go.
