It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

So I don't have the best internet or nothing but that's not really my issue.
My issue is this WORTHLESS launchers ability to recover from sudden shutdown/power lost..

I'm trying to download something that's 63 fuggin gigs and after waiting for 5 hours, I got to 9 gigs.
Power cut for an instant and as soon as I power back on my system... I only have 230mb from the LAST time I paused it...
Very very sad state...
Even that dumpsterfire that is EpicFailure don't have this issue... EVEN STEAM DONT HAVE THIS ISSUE!

WTF!

I guess it is soooooper hard to have a "Download status" file THAT IT CLEARLY NEEDS TO RESTART FROM IF A DOWNLOAD IS EVER PAUSED!!!! Update its self AT LEAST EVERY 20 MINS!

WTF IS THIS GHETTO 1990s TIER TRASH!?

Galaxy 2.0.... I see NO improvement.
high rated
Have you tried downloading the normal game instalkers from the website, rather than using the galaxy client which is completely unnecessary?
Really. The only solution is to use an intergalactic laxative.

Or, you know, what FrodoBaggins said. Avoid any sh*tty problems by circumventing Galaxy altogether.

Maybe consider an ups.
Just because you cant game with one afaik, doesnt mean it's not usefull.
A UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) is indeed excellent to take care of micro breaks in the power grid supply. I speak from experience here. You should have a way to tell your power is out though so you don't run the battery down in case the break is a bit longer. One of the pros of a laptop is the built in battery.

True, and I connected to it also the monitor, external HDDs, the modem, and a light lol.
It saved me from some bad interruptions.
Yes really.

While being able to cope with connection dropouts is pretty normal, most computer programs are not made to handle power dropouts. As others have said, maybe you should get a UPS if power cuts are common in your area since cutting the power is generally bad for your computer and OS and not just bad for a single running program.

Or possibly, they could modernize there junk launcher to be on par with even the failures that is epic, or the corp scum that makes people steam.

When its even lesser quality then torrenting, there is an issue.

Power outages aside, junk net aside. Why would I buy a game on gog, then try to use my browser to download it that would have the same issues.... Why even make a statement with out addressing the root issue? Oh, I forgot... Responding with out understanding is the basic forum trolls response.

I thought people advanced there soft, or use more adaptive programs for there needs... Basically, I shoulda got this on Steam and said fuk this pos launcher.

Apox upon me for giving gog a chance, I'll be sure to never do it again.

Xan5131: Why would I buy a game on gog,
For the DRM-free installers. If that's not something positive for you, then there's really not much else.

Browsers tend to be reliable when faced with network and power outages. I've had instances of power outages after which I could resume interrupted Firefox downloads without any issues.

If you've already made up your mind, why make a thread about it?
Everyone, you can stop wasting your time here. OP doesn't want help, as you can see from the duplicate thread Loss of download status.

Another option is to use (gaming) laptops. They handle power hiccups just fine with their own battery.

I understand you have a problem with the galaxy client. I gave a solution - have you even tried it?

Being rude and aggressive, and petty name-calling, will not make people want to help you!

I did mention laptops and their batteries. See the last sentence in my post.

If my local power connection was that unreliable I'd already be considering either a laptop or a UPS first. Galaxy has shortcomings with its download design for sure, but you see for the average person with a stable power (and net) connection Galaxy works fine when downloading. In other words it meets the needs of users with a stable setup.

Those power outages are going to ruin your PC in short order anyway. If they keep up Galaxy is going to be the least of your concerns - consider changing your hardware setup if you can afford it: UPS your PC or get a laptop.
