How to get soundtrack working in Quake II GOG vanilla?
You might want to have a look at the dedicated subform for the Quake series over here:
www.gog.com/forum/quake_series

Edit:
www.gog.com/forum/quake_series/quake_2_music looks promising.

I wrote a detailed guide on this:

https://www.gog.com/forum/quake_series/quake_1_2_quickstart_guide_music_and_source_ports

Note, it's not truly "vanilla" but doesn't change any actual graphics or gameplay. Getting the game to play vanilla is an uphill battle without using a source port.

Cut Music folder and paste it in Quake2\baseq2

Thanks. Does Yamagi use 3DFX?

Are you playing it on a modern PC?

The render options say "Open GL 1.4, Open GL 3.2, Software, and Custom".
Save game from GOG version not working in Yamagi.

Dang, are you certain your save files are placed in the correct folder?

Yamagi has a specific placement:

C:\Users\***USERNAME***\Documents\YamagiQ2\baseq2\save\current

I hope that helps.
