I see that the game is on sale, so I wanted to make this thread to warn those who might not know about what a mess the GOG version is. Not only is the GOG version missing leaderboards, replays, and the level editor, but it also hasn't received any of the updates that the Steam version has. The developers dumped their game here and then immediately abandoned us.

Yeah, i'm not a fan of missing features in gog versions of some games with the excuse often being that "we're not Steam".
On the other hand buying here might give GOG the leverage to ask them to update the game. As for leaderboards etc, I consider those fluff that I don't care about. Except the editor.

Shouldn't GOG do this anyway? From the moment a game is released on GOG, it should get updated on par with the other stores. I can accept a slight delay for technical reasons, but not getting updates at all is a major issue (especially in case there are gamebreaking bugs). I'm not in position to know how GOG handles the subject, but I hope there is a line or two about updates in their agreement between them & the developers/publishers.

Wouldn't any change made to Steam be relatively simple to apply to other games, regardless of what company sells them? Or is it really complex?

Such actions by devs are basically destroy GOG reputation for carrying about products it sells.

Exactly. How do you expect to attract new customers & keep them loyal; by offering outdated (and potentially buggy) games?
As usual:
No more outdated or abandoned games.
