Hello guys, I´m a starter in play games on GOG, and I recently start to play shadow of mordor, I played for 3 hours, but when I close the game I lost all of my progress, but shows on the painel that I played for 3 hours.

I try to follow tutorials that should help, but didn't work, someone have any ideia about how to fix this problem? every time that I close the game I lost my progress

Someone claimed the saves are located within the game directory, which is a bit No-Go these days, since that would require Admin rights if the game is installed in c:\Program Files.

On another site I have read they are stored in %userprofile%/Documents/My Games/WB games
That would be ok.

But in case the first guy was right, make sure that your standard user has write access rights to your game directory.

And the next bad joke in the line is that they seem to use the computer name as subdirectory name. Yes ... renaming your PC would result in savegames not being found anymore ...

This guy even claimed that the PC name was used as part of the savegame path, which would be something weird indeed.

Maybe someone had the same problem as you and solved it.
What happens when you Save the game? Do you see a confirmation that the game has Saved? Do you see a list of your Saved games? I ask, because the way you write it, it sounds like you're closing the game without actively Saving it.

Next time you make a Save, go into the next room, and try to Load \ Restore it, to check it works.
I don't recall what savegame system Shadows of Mordor uses, but most modern open world games don't have "save anywhere whenever you want to" systems, so it would probably be helpful if you could decribe it, in order to narrow down your issue. I do remember some games where you first had to play quite a bit up to a certain point after the first mission before you were even allowed to save your game, and I got burnt by it, too (e.g. Saints Row The Third and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon).

What's also always a good idea: See if the game has any log files and read them.
