Is there a list of gift credit cards that are guaranteed to work and can be gotten in the US? Before I get attacked for not reading the forums, I have but the threads are a few years old and things change.

OK, I see a number of good games I want to get, but when I go to checkout, I'm told my card is blocked, and the first time I tried I got a fraud warning from the bank. We cleared that up, but they told me that they will not do transactions with some countries—and Cyprus is one those countries.

I got all sorts of glitches with trying to use PayPal Wallet and transferring funds (linking my card with PayPal also gets blocked by the bank). So that seems to be out, too.

So seeing in older forum posts about getting cards to work from the US, I was wondering if anyone knew of where I could get a card that works. Preferably something prepaid I can use once without having to get hit with termination fees.

Thanks
Check gog allows you paysafecard,

Go to paysafecard website, look for your closest shop

Visit said shop and confirm they do paysafecard

Withdraw cash from bank

Give to said shop

Receive pin code

Add gog wallet funds by entering pin or buy individual games without gog wallet

I've tried that, but no shops exist within 50 miles at least
If they're even blocking PayPal, there is only one sensible option: change your bank.

I am in Canada, the Master Card gift card works for me. If you can get them in the States it should work for you as well.

That probably won't work for gift cards bought in the US. Ever since 9/11 the US has been fairly strict with gift cards - fearing that money is being laundered for terrorist organizations. Almost all gift cards sold in stores are restricted from being used internationally.

You can try buying a PayPal card from 7-Eleven or CVS Pharmacy to add money directly to your PayPal account. Be warned that PayPal will need to verify your identity to prevent money laundering - a pain in the ass especially without a SSN.

The US government takes money laundering very seriously so it's very hard to spend money internationally from the US without a way to verify your identity. It sucks but that's how it is.

I don't have a problem with the identity thing. I didn't know PayPal had cards. I will have to research that. Thanks for the information

EDIT: I see several nearby stores have PayPal cards. Here's hoping that works :-)

Glad to be of help. There are several options for PayPal. If you have a smartphone, the least hassle is the app. The app has an add cash from store option that's pretty easy to use. Funds are usually added to your account in 15 minutes without the need to enter a code and such.

Next are the cards that add funds to your account via code into the PayPal website. It can take 30 minutes before it works though. It can only add funds to your account but can't access your account otherwise - so feel free to throw it away when done. It's supposed to be reloadable but in my experience it has never worked as such.

Finally there's the PayPal debit card. Unless you need another debit card avoid this one. It connects to your PayPal account and anyone with your PIN can use your card and thus your account. This is not a disposable card so don't throw it away.
Well, that didn't work. At least I can return the card to the purchase point and get the money back, and hope God.com someday can establish a location where we don't have to jump through hoops. A pity. I was looking forward to playing some old classics
Had same problem. Just singed up on GoG and cant use it really. Was trying to get HoMM3 complete and not able to.
*Solved*

Paypal prepaid MasterCard. There are monthly fee's unless you do direct deposit, it's around $5 I believe. You can reload your card at any CVS pharmacy.

https://www.paypal-prepaid.com/

You could always just load it up, dump all the funds onto GOG wallet, and cancel the card to avoid fee's

SOLVED: Without warning, PayPal finally processed my test balance. I'm linked and bought my programs. Thank you everyone for your help. Now to see if I can get the card refunded.
