This would be a great opportunity for them to make AoW3 multiplayer DRM-free, by removing the online server check required before you can do LAN play.

Also, the pricing and "data grid required to understand what's going on" is pretty transparent that Paradox has plans to Paradox-up this title. Then again, Triumph did have never-rereleased-later pre-order content in AoW3, too.

EDIT: And online connections for skins. Didn't know about that, mentioned in the gamecard. Or it slipped my mind.

I give them respect for putting Achievements on the feature page instead of either leaving them out and/or making GOG's customers guess as to whether or not they will be added by release date, which is what many other publishers/devs do.

On the other hand, $89 USD for the Premium Edition is a mighty high asking price.

How many, if any, more DLCs are going to be added in the future which won't be included in the Premium Edition?
Yes!
I'm so happy to see the game here ^_^
Going to buy the overpriced edition...but,It's me or digital games are more and more pricey?
Indies was around 15€ now It's 20€ or more...
Glad the series continue to be available on GOG and we are not left "orphaned".
high rated
For AOW:Planetfall, it was the 3 that were listed and planned for the Premium Edition. And all of them were rather chunky, contentwise, and supported with substantial patches even for those folks who didn't buy the DLCs.

You can actually see what you're getting, IIRC they also did a breakdown of the premium packs content. It's 4 DLCs, priced at 10€, 20€, 10€ and 20€ respectively, plus the preorder armor cosmetics and the premium mage suit cosmetics.

The preorder content for AOW Planetfall was also offered seperately at a later point:

You can kvetch about Paradox and their DLC strategies as long and hard as you want, but Triumph was never part of that, and their output quality in regards to DLCs across the entire AOW series, along with their efforts at balancing and adding features for free (like Planetfall's Empire Mode), has been never been anything less than stellar.

I, for once, welcome our new Dire Penguin Overlords...again.

I really hope this doesn't render Planetfall obsolete the way Planetfall rendered AoW3 obsolete.

I just could not return to AoW3 after Planetfall's innovations and QoL improvements.

You get the expansion pass, making it $10/each for 4 DLCs + the premium armor.

I've seen worse expansion pass prices. The Midnight Suns one is $50 for some skins, 4 characters + 13 missions.

I'm not saying it is not expensive. I guess we will know if it is worth it when the DLC starts to drop, but it is worth it for me.
So glad AOE4 is coming to GOG!
Will the preorder bonus content, day one unlock, and premium edition content be available DRM-free, offline, without an account?

I'm interested in purchasing if the game and content are truly DRM-free (aside from multiplayer), but not if content is tied to being online and/or having an account.

Sadly, this is a SUPREMELY important question, one that they've failed on previously
Cool. Now I need to get around to actually playing AoW 3 and Planetfall that have been sitting in my backlog. ;)
At least the pre-order DLC isn't story content, like AoW3's was, which BTW they promised to make available later on as normal DLC but never did.
